LOL!! I understand what your mean, but if you lived in upstate NY like I do, you want that term used. It distinguishes us from the downstate Commiecrats. NY sucks in general, but upstate is the “OK” part. Downstate is just a Socialist cesspool for the most part.
I’ll say it, at the risk of being wrong, but that is near Islamburgh, the Muslim enclave, about 25 to 30 miles away...
Yep! These shootings either bring out the PC police if the ROP is involved, or bring out the gun-grabbers. Either way, not good.
I know- incredible how we begin to think, isn’t it?
Not enough info yet to know anything- but I notice how my thinking has changed over the last eight years..
People seem to term “upstate NY” meaning anything north of NYC. Pine Plains is about an hour and a half north of NYC. Its a rural area.
They have a vid on fox..of them driving him, to who knows where..its been going on for 15 minutes. If they are taking him to Poughkeepsie, like they thought they might be..that will be another 15 minutes of watching a car drive on a rural road.
90 miles north of NYC borders MASS, not Ct. :)
Ct is ony 45 to 50 miles tall, ya know.
No..this county (Dutchess) borders CT.
We will know more about this guy’s church, his “affiliations” his reading habits and his life and there will be nothing but speculation as to his motives by lunch than we will ever know about the murderous jihadist from Ft Hood..
And I’ll bet it’s one of those “safe” schools in which none of the teachers/principals are permitted to carry concealed, right? Yep. PERFECTLY safe for lunatics, terrorists and criminals. Not so safe for the law abiding.
Nobody carries guns (handguns) in NY state without a gun permit which isnt so easy to get. There would be no reason to do so in this particular area. Its a small town..and supposedly safe. But, I guess anyone, anywhere can go berzerk
Of course they do!
(They're called "criminals".)
Right..but those people dont have any gun control laws and they are the guns doing all of the damage and would still be there no matter what laws are made.
Zackly.
Or just your classic New York school siege.
While New York does require a permit to carry or even possess a handgun, a permit is not necessarily all that difficult to obtain depending upon the applicant's count of residence. In most counties the county sheriff processes the application and the county judge has the final say, and in many upstate counties, including Dutchess County, where Pine Plains is located, the 2nd Amendment is very well-respected and carry permits are routinely granted to qualified applicants.
Things are gonna get really bad.
Yeah, I remember thinking that as well during Bush’s 1st term. The first mass school shooting during his presidency besides the beltway sniper that I recall was the 2005 school shooting on the Indian Reservation that left 10 dead. That was during his 2nd term.
