FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.

The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing."

I’ve got to admit that sometimes I miss George W. It seems to have increased month by month over the last year for some strange reason...

I'm willing to bet (someone elses money) that we will see 2 former Bush presidents at the memorial, and maybe even a WJ Clinton.

If the shooter (a child of Palestinians) had died, then maybe Carter too, but since it was only our military who suffered casualties, I doubt he'll show up.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Carter doesn't issue a "moral equivalency" statement about the pain and suffering inflicted on our soldiers, and the pain and suffering inflicted on the Palestinian people.

A meaningful comparison:

Dubya quietly visits the troops.

Obama loudly visits the House to armtwist for Obamacare.

This thread has not only pointed out the disturbing and deep differences in character between George W. Bush and Zero, but also that there are a few other idle Presidents that could have stepped up to the plate to show their support for the troops at Ft. Hood.

I was actually surprised that George H.W. didn't accompany his son to Ft. Hood. I know that his heart is in the same place.

I was just telling my mother & hubby today that I miss George Bush. At least we know what side he is on in regards to protecting the American people. Both George & Laura have more class than the Obama’s will ever have in this life.

President Bush being the gentleman he is and following proper protocol probably waited and then decided to heck with it.

I can also guarantee you that he didn't need the results of any polls, focus groups, or the opinions of his staff to make this decision.

Hear that ZERO? That's what a LEADER does.

Between this story, and listening to old Reagan speeches, I actually was able to convince myself this morning that the nation was still sane.

I believe that the nation is (by and large) still sane. What's hurting us is the 20% who are stark raving lunatic leftists.

The rest of us can tell the difference between black and white.

<In the mean time, Obama is “relaxing” at Camp David.

Are you kidding me?? Are you kidding me? This guy has access to Air Force One, can be anywhere in the country in minutes, and he can’t spend an hour with our military? Just when I thought I couldn’t be anymore disgusted with Zero, he does something else that just boggles the mind.

There isn’t one public picture regarding this visit, yet it’s not stopping the DU from claiming it was strictly a photo-op, narcissism and a need to get through the door before ears..

Well, President Bush went on his own and whether or not the current administration likes it or not...President Bush is a “civilian” now and can do what he wants and knowing him he was NOT going to wait WEEKS AND WEEKS to make that visit with his beautiful First Lady.

President Bush has class that obama can never buy.

In a recent interview President Bush said he loved being the Commander In Chief. It's what he misses most now

Remembering Pres. George Bush and reminded of the stark contrast in his common sense, decency, compassion, class and leadership when one hears this tone deaf, arrogant, insensitive, cruelly cold, classless and shameless cretin give his shockingingly inappropriate jive talking 'shout out' in a speech supposedly announcing the horrific attack on the troops at Fort Hood who sadly serve under his command authority:

Fort Hood Tragedy -- Barack Obama Gives Odd "Shout-Out" Before He Comments on Massacre -- FOX News

Pres. Bush speaks about shootings at Virginia Tech

President Bush Speaks - Virginia Tech Memorial

We've been thankfully blessed once in the last decade with a noble leader. We now anxiously pray to survive this horrible chapter in our history, as we await and pray for the blessing of another real leader and patriot who loves and is devoted to his country.

Yes. That's EXACTLY what he's doing.

He's taking it easy at Camp David.

There are no words.
