FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.

The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing."

Saturday Word: Fort Hood and Health Care
By Bernie Becker

President Obama uses his weekly address this week to express sympathy for those who lost loved ones at the Fort Hood shooting and also to hail the valor of those on the scene.

“It is a crime that would have horrified us had its victims been Americans of any background,” Mr. Obama says. “But it’s all the more heartbreaking and all the more despicable because of the place where it occurred and the patriots who were its victims.”

But, Mr. Obama adds, the tragedy also brought out the best in some. “We saw soldiers and civilians alike rushing to aid fallen comrades; tearing off bullet-riddled clothes to treat the injured; using blouses as tourniquets; taking down the shooter even as they bore wounds themselves.”

Finally — after reports that the suspect at Fort Hood, Nidal Malik Hasan, who is Muslim, shouted what sounded like “Allahu Akbar” before opening fire — Mr. Obama paid tribute to the diverse nature of the military. “They are Americans of every race, faith, and station,” he says. “They are Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and nonbelievers. They are descendants of immigrants and immigrants themselves. They reflect the diversity that makes this America. But what they share is a patriotism like no other.”

It was just reported on Fox that some of the wounded are so bad they might not make it. My heart is breaking.

I don’t believe that. It’s in TX. Bush is a Texan and it’s in Bush’s DNA to do so. Obama, his DNA not so much. Obama is a selfish little tool who needs to be thrown out on his black ass like he was a cheatin fool in a Tyler Perry movie.

“I never doubted his respect for our military”. Agreed. Politics aside. Thank You President Bush.

That’s very nice, but where are the Democrats? Obama, Biden - hello?

In fact, they are busy ramming a health bill down our throats that the majority of the people don’t want. This is how they “govern”. Government for them, and not for us.

Well, as Jamie Colby breathlessly announced Barry is making a rare appearance on the Hill today on a weekend—imagine pulling himself away from golf after an exhausting week leading our country. Wendell said that he will not be twisting any arms...however, one undecided Rep from PA got about three calls from the WH on how to vote. Thugs!

“I bet you that Rahm is FURIOUS that Bush is there before Obama.”
____________________________________________________________
Given Hussien’s pace at responding to these types of things, Rahm would be furious with most Americans, not just Bush.

Obie's first response will be the one remembered. This man has the heart of an assassin. The blood that runs through his body is ice cold. Makes me wonder what “other duties as assigned” were performed for his Chicago handlers while masquerading as a community organizer.

Yesterday, I heard one of the networks say O would be attending the memorial service. I say too little too late — don’t bother. I just don’t know if I can watch the mournful facial expressions he’s been practicing in front of a mirror.
