Shortly after Major Malik Nadal Hasan and two other unnamed shooters allegedly opened fire at the largest U.S. military installation in the world, Ft. Hood in Texas, President Barack Obama held a press conference to address the issue. Before getting around to the shooting that has already claimed a dozen lives and wounded at least 31 people, he began his remarks by saying:
I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow (ph) was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you.
The quotation says it all: our commander-in-chief feels there is no event so serious that it cannot be prefaced by a moment of glib hipness, no solemn loss so sacred he will deny himself a moment of wry self-indulgence. Soldiers were killed? Let’s say hi to Joe first. An entire theater of war needs a plan to defeat the terrorists who struck America on 9/11? No reason I can’t go golfing, shoot some hoops, and hit the town with Michelle.
President Bush used to break into tears when addressing soldiers and was reviled as a stone-hearted warmonger; Donald Rumsfeld was demonized for using a machine to sign notification letters to fallen soldiers’s next-of-kin. President Obama gives out rounds of virtual fist-bumps to his buds before even mentioning a slaughter of Americans, perpetrated by Americans, in mid-America.
We desperately need an adult in the White House. Sadly, today’s press conference proves we do not have one.
(Incidentally, the shooter — who killed 12 people with two handguns — is reportedly a convert to Islam incensed about being sent to war.)

worse than Carter...
The GHETTO PRESIDENT.
Islam in action, again!
Eh. Kinda hard to get mad at the guy he... it is like being mad at the fire that is destroying your house. Be mad at the guy with the matches and gasoline that lit your house on fire... the electorate.

Hussein is an ass!!!
I WISH some competent lawyer - and a brave, honest judge - would step up and prove that hussein is NOT AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.
He’s a lying, dishonest, narcissistic, pile of crap who has NO BUSINESS IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!
And he certainly has no love for our country or our military.
Send the kenyan back to kenya - or Canada - or wherever the he11 he came from!!!
Unfortunately, they are a lost cause.
Why should oVama care what happens to America? He is a Kenyan after all.
Neek Naf Sek.
Worst act of terrorism on US soil since 9-11. And it’s under Sheik Obama’s rule.
Impeach him.
We expected him to congratulate his muslim brother for being such a good shot.
omg
first a “shout out” to the red man-
then, he is deeply saddened to announce a slaughter of US troops on US soil on a US military base. Such empathy. Such gravitas.
is this satire or did he really do this???????
I’m glad I turned the channel before he came on, or I’d have thrown something at my TV.
Obama doesn’t want to win in Afghan so they’ll just come here or recruit here.
Why did boy zero salute the dead a week ago?
For comparison, in Sarasota, Fla., Tuesday morning, before attacks spread to Washington:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is a difficult moment for America. I unfortunately will be going back to Washington after my remarks. Secretary Rod Paige and the lieutenant governor will take the podium and discuss education.
I do want to thank the folks here at the Booker Elementary School for their hospitality.
Today we’ve had a national tragedy. Two airplanes have crashed into the World Trade Center in an apparent terrorist attack on our country. I have spoken to the vice president, to the governor of New York, to the director of the FBI, and I’ve ordered that the full resources of the federal government go to help the victims and their families and to conduct a full-scale investigation to hunt down and to find those folks who committed this act.
Terrorism against our nation will not stand.
And now if you join me in a moment of silence.
May God bless the victims, their families and America. Thank you very much.”
My heart goes out to the families of our lost and/or wounded military men/women.
Lord please be near each family and friend affected by this. Give the Doctors wisdom and skill to work on each person. God bless them.
Prayers being said..Obama acted like he was out campaign stomping instead of addressing the tragedy that just happened. He addresses the shooting after a bunch of NOT NEEDED HELLOS AND SHOUT-OUTS. Very UN- PRESIDENTIAL.
I am ashamed of what he just did to our military men and women.
He’s a certifiable PUKE!
Kinda hard to get mad at the guy he...
Who you referring to? If nobama, I’d say most patriotic Americans stay mad at this hadji fake President.
Far be it from me to ever defend Precedent Obama, but the fact is, he was already in the middle of an address to an American Indian conference when he received the news of the Ft. Hood shootings.
As per his usual incompetence and misjudgment, he decided to address the nation about this horrific incident before he’d completed addressing the other event.
The way it came off made it appear that Obama takes this terror incident lightly, but that was more of an effect of the context in which he made his remarks.
An intelligent President would have quickly ended the conference and begun his address to the nation, but Obama stupidly shoe-horned it into the middle of his other address.
I’ve flushed turds that had more sense than this jerk in the White House. I could spit nails right now.
According to numerous sources on the internet Dr. Joe Medicine Crow did not “win” a MOH. “commader zero” did award him a Congressional Medal of Freedom. Something entirely different. ‘Course our current occupant of the WH hates the Military so it’s no surprise that he doesn’t know the difference.
Dear Reader spoke for 2:30 before addressing the Ft. Hood shooting...
You don’t “give a shout out” to a Congressional Medal of Honor winner. That in not just some bling hanging from a blue ribbon but even if Barry knew that he obviously wouldn’t care.
They criticized Bush for his behavior in a school during the 9/11 attacks.
Yet the MSM will not criticize Zero for his comments before getting around to the Ft. Hood incident.
We need a patriotic non-muslim american.
Right now the scum in the whitehouse is not any of the above.
Nuclear blast kills millions; Presidential statement;
My fellow Americans, today is a grave day in our history.
But first I want to send out props to my homies...
Are you kidding? Fancy Nancy, Hapless Harry and the Big BO were estatic that this took the Tea Partiers off the table. They had their Kristalknicht and can not pass their precious Nazi Credo...control of all from cradle to grave....
Priorities in the sh*tter....most insensitive thing I have ever seen.
I cringe every time I hear that. Zer0 probably thinks the Medal of Honor is handed out like his Nobul Piss Prize. Like the Medal of Honor is something to be "won."
Come on down to the Price is Right.... Johnny show him what he's won....
Makes me sick.
He really did! I thought I was in the twilight zone. Couldn’t believe my eyes & ears!
Thank God he was in charge on 9/11.
I will wager you that he does not know the guy personally, just using the name for props.
Listen again to the video, he makes it a point to mention he was awarded the CMH.
Amen. I think we are seeing how Gore would have responded to September 11th.
I am so completerly angry at obama right now I am practically shacking. What a complete disgrace of a human and even more of a disgraceful president. Gaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
shacking = shaking
Do you think someone flashed him a message to start talking about Ft Hood?
His transition from 2:28 of stroking the red men to mentioning the dead men, was a bit shaky.
Crow is NOT a MOH winner. He received the bronze star. But to asshats like Obama, what’s the difference?
I see your point BUT what I ask myself every time Barry reaches a new low in presidential behavior is, how would the MSM react if this were GW Bush. We all know what would happen. We'd hear endless carping about how unfeeling the administration is. We'd have the talking heads debating about how the whole incident points out how the US is being attacked for their arrogance. We might even get a film by Michael Moore or Oliver Stone.
Isaiah 3:4...
[in that day...} 4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. KJV
The surroundings of his remarks are meaningless. There has just been an unresolved national tragedy, which overrides any local conference or gathering. There are times the president represents the entire nation and must address the nation in that capacity: times of tragedy, natural disaster, or foreign attack. Reagan did so after the Challenger. Bush stood at Ground Zero after 9/11. Today, Obamas charge was to speak in this capacity, and he blew it.
As for the psychiatrist/shooter:
I bet the problem is that he never accepted Barack H. Obama as his personal savior. /sarc>
mmm, mmm, mmm. /double-sarc>
Prayers up for the families.
A good suggestion made on Jason Lewis today -- a caller suggested that since this guy is a psychiatrist, with the rank of Major, he may have gotten medical/psychiatric training and had the government pay off the loans in return for a stint in the military. So we don't yet know for sure just *how long* he has been in the armed forces.
Oh -- and how long did it take for the press and the Dems to dig up Joe the Plumber's life story, when they wanted *that*? Surely the government has more information about a major in the Army at its fingertips, than this.
Makes one wonder even more, it does.
Dr. Medicine Crow as depicted in a PBS documentary on World War II after which he was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Bronze Star. One website erroneously states Dr. Medicine Crow is a MOH winner.
