Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.

The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.

The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.

With two or more shooters at two or more seperate places, I am presuming terrorism until shown otherwise. Hopefully other bases are already on gaurd. Sounds like the Ft. Dix plan that was foiled, repackaged.

As far as I know, civilian guns are strictly prohibited on military bases.

Exactly, there is more gun control on a military base then in the civilian world. Unauthorized use of weaponry, even in benign instances, can lead to serious disciplinary actions. The military takes weapons safety VERY seriously.

Sgt. Akbar was taken alive after he threw a grenade into an officers’ tent killing 2 and injuring a dozen men. That case dragged on for years.
