Gingrich 'Deeply Upset' That Scozzafava Endorsed Democrat After He'd Supported Her (ROFL)

Newt Gingrich, who had previously endorsed moderate Republican Dede Scozzafava in the NY-23 special election, now says he is "deeply upset" about her endorsement of Democrat Bill Owens after she withdrew from the race.
"How could she have accepted all that support?" said Gingrich, also adding: "I'm very, very let down because she told everybody she was a Republican, and she said she was a loyal Republican."
Gingrich had caught a lot of criticism on the right for supporting Scozzafava, and arguing that the Republican Party needs to have room for moderates. Now that Scozzafava has quit the race and endorsed the Democrat, due to campaign by the right to push her out in favor of Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, Gingrich will certainly have to work hard to undo the damage from his having bet on the wrong horse.

Kinda like old Tom Daschle bleating on about how "deeply dissappointed" he always was.

I posted on one of the Newt threads that she was a prime candidate to do as Jim Jeffords did (jump parties after safe election). Ultimately it all comes down to the Democrats maintaining a larger number of seats than the Republicans.
He was willing to seat someone who opposed the GOP on basic plank items all to get someone with an R next to her name.
But how likely was she to REMAIN with an R after winning (using GOP funds)?
Scorpion bit you. That’s what they do.

"I'm very, very let down because she told everybody she was a Republican, and she said she was a loyal Republican." So the brilliant Newt was bamboozled by a candidate who was liberal on every core issue except gun rights, and she's probably conservative on that because she's from a rural district and has to be.
Face it, Newt - you WANTED to be fooled.

“Moderate Republican”???? Actually, it’s FLAMING LIBERAL DEMOCRAT in Republican clothing.
Newt knew where Scozzafava stood on the issues and yet he still backed the radical socialist!
Anyone who would have the audacity to support him for President in 2012 is simply out-of-their-mind.
Newt’s political career is done!

To: pissant
Well you’re not as DEEPLY UPSET as WE are that you supported this leftist RINO, Newt! Scozzafava exposed the true meaning of RINO republican and you exposed the meaning of a political hack who is more concerned with sucking up to the republican party to secure the presidential nomination than with doing what is RIGHT for the nation and the American people. So screw the people, right Newt? Let em put up with leftist tax raisers who will prevent drilling for oil, support abortion, cap and tax, Husseincare and all the rest. As long as you get a shot at the White House, let the people eat cake! I have 2 words for you Newt. Can you guess what they are?

My arm chair psychology, worth about two cents:
Newt is brilliant but demonstrably naive, only believes in the best in others — which is why people like Clinton and other con artists regretably and routinely make a fool of him.
More broadly, Newt, like Richard Nixon, has an insatiable pyschological hunger to be respected by the Beltway Establishment and invited into their salons - like George Will. Newt needs to get real with the fact that the DC Elite will always hate him and will never accept him.
