Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) acknowledged Wednesday that he failed to disclose nearly $300,000 in profits from the sale of Exxon stock in 2006 and 2007, and his office said he will file amended financial disclosure forms with the House ethics committee as soon as possible.
According to Carters office, a 2006 sale of Exxon Mobil Corp. stock netted the Congressman just more than $199,000 in profits that were not reflected on his financial disclosure form for that year. A 2007 sale of Exxon stock netted about $97,000 that Carter failed to disclose.

But let me guess... he actually DID pay his taxes on this!
yep.
Carters office showed Roll Call documentation that Carter had paid taxes on the income from the 2006 stock sale.
This man will never get hired by Obama, then.
Lets see if he treated differently than Charlie Rangel.
If not, I hope he wrote “Rangel Rule” across the top of his returns.

Candidates I support: Doug Hoffman for Congress, NY 23rd (PayPal), David Harmer for Congress, CA 10th (website for info). Please, spread the word about these important special elections on November 3, 209: New York’s 23rd congressional district and California’s 10th congressional district. |

I still prefer the “GEITNER RULE” .. tax payment is not necessary until appointed to CABINET POSITION!!
Did you click the “Rangel Rule link.” There was a reason I used that term. Click the link, see the actual bill, sponsored by none other than Representative John Carter of Texas, yes, this same John Carter.

Chump change to Charlie Rangel.
Important point that the State Run Media, Democrat mouthpieces and people that can't read, keep repeating making it sound as if Carter is no better than Rangel. Too bad Old Chuckie was cheating on his taxes and Carter was not.
I remembered there was actual Rangel Rule bill drawn up...
I hope Carter does it... just for the HELLUVIT!!!
Would love to see the IRS INUNDATED with RANGEL or even GEITNER RULE cross top of form...
