Some of this is poorly written or edited. For instance, "The virus doesn't spread to humans who eat pork." must not mean that eating pork is preventative.

That’s a picky police point; I wonder if the statistics on the main are misleading.

The swine flu is a weak strain of flu. The problem is the body’s reaction to it. People with strong immune systems have more trouble with it because the immune system overreacts. Those with underdeveloped (not weak due to pre-existing conditions) immune systems have been just fine. I would bet that the children who have died are day-care kids. They have been exposed to so much and have great immune systems. The body’s reaction to the flu is almost like an auto-immune disorder.

About 6 percent of all doctor visits are for flu-like illnesses, levels not normally seen until later in the fall. The CDC's Dr. Anne Schuchat (SHU'-kit) says, "These are very sobering statistics."

Global warming (not)

Manufacturer delays mean 28 million to 30 million doses, at most, will be divided around the country by the end of the month, not the 40 million-plus that states had been expecting

If this had been the case under the Bush administration, the MSM would have been calling for his head.

One of the worlds great athletes gets sick.

LeBron Returns to Practice After Presumed Swine Flu

'Most reports of civilians catching swine flu include a high temperature, scratchy throat, and the worst aches they've ever felt. Jackson admitted that those were the symptoms he had been feeling, spending two days in bed and drinking a gallon of water a day.

"I can't remember ever being that sick," he said.

James said that he felt same symptoms, orchestrated the same routine and believes he has recovered. He said he believes he caught the bug from his teammates at practice, many of whom have been sick, too.'

and the government warned Friday that vaccine supplies will be even more scarce than expected through this month.

In other words, "run out NOW and get-it-while-you-can!" I may end up eating my words, but this sounds like a pitch to get people to stampede the doorways to get the vaccination when they know many people are leery of it and avoiding it.

Makes ya wonder why back a few months ago, and with all those BILLIONS spent and declarations of ‘we are prepared’..........what happened to the vaccines?

Oh wait, I forgot the ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ and let em suffer a little longer, bit....

It may sound silly, but every time we feel like we’re getting sick (cold, flu, sore throat, sniffles), we eat a bunch of salty RUFFLES and that seems to help. We also suck on those ZINC Gluconate Glycine Lozenges (available at Target) or Cold-Eez (available at most drug stores) and it’s like MAGIC! Symptoms disappear very quickly!

Don’t know if these home-remedies would work for the swine flu, but might be worth a try... But you have to take these things AS SOON AS YOU FIRST FEEL ANY SYMPTOMS like scratchy throat or sniffles. Good luck.
