The government option? Government controlled co-op? Beware of fluffy, cutsie-pie nice sounding 1,500 page bill amendments attached in the dead of night.

Government sucess stories:

Social Security Medicare Medicaid The Veterans Administration

Above are four government run healthcare systems well run, well administered and loved by doctors and hospitals.

After four successes like the ones listed above, let’s let them have government take over one more program and control all private doctors and private insurance. After all, they’ll base the new system on their previous successes.

They can call it what they like. If they are spending $Trillion in 10 years (and you know it’s going to be more, much more) then it is “The Government Option”. If this passes then the Federal government will own the health care business in short order.

I don’t know why these idiot politicians keep playing around with changing our healthcare. The simple truth is that Hospitals today need to make a profit. That’s why our hospital just added an entire cardiac wing, for the Baby Boomers who need it in the area. And another local hospital just built an entire cancer wing, because that’s the kind of care that hospital needs to provide if they want to stay in business.

Translation: Doctors and hospitals now make decisions based on our needs, to treat us in the best possible way to keep us coming back and protect their business.

Government healthcare is the exact opposite. They’ll make decisions based only on cost-cutting. They don’t have to do anything to bring their patients back because there will be no choice. I think Americans will be more than physically sick when they find out that they lost any influence on their healthcare decisions.

The fact of the matter is that the public option, aka the government option is really NO OPTION AT ALL which is what the liberal slimebuckets and scumbags really want us all to live under. Government will then decide who lives and who dies, who gets medical and healthcare and who doesn’t. The government would be much greater a nightmare than any HMO ever would be.

Not always. They are employing defensive medicine, designed to protect them from litigation. Even without obama care, tort reform is needed and health insurance needs to be available across state lines. And big pharma needs to stop increasing the costs to Americans for medicine they charge far less for in other perfectly wealthy countries like Canada.

I can see pharmalogical companies charging amounts for drugs that have been produced for rare diseases or diseases that not too many folks have (a question of profitability) but for all the other drugs and medicines, they should charge a much fairer more reasonable price.
