When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands...
This outrageous power grab by the Federal Government thankfully requires a vote of confidence. The election of 2010 is our best opportunity to peacefully, legally, and constitutionally THROW THE BUMS OUT.
There's 123 House of Representative seats and 34 Senate seats in play. That's one third of the whole congress. Did somebody say change? Here's some results from last time around; Chris Dodd (D) 66.35%, Harry Reid (D) 61.08%, Chuck Schumer (D) 71.16%, Patrick Leahy (D) 70.63%, John McCain (R) 76.74%. What all these distinguished gentlemen share is relative confidence of being re-elected.
GET OUTRAGED!!!
LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

Let's get started collecting the information voters will need to know in 2010. Converting spreadsheets to html means anyone can grab that chunk of code and post it in other forums and blogs. Let's go viral!

Good work. Can you highlight the with red the ones that voted yes on both those abominations?
Don’t highlight in red... some people are color blind... add additional fields for the votes. When you put it back into a spreadsheet, then you can sort by vote.
A couple of decades ago, NJ threw ALL the bums out. Just about every single one of both parties. The good and the bad.
The new crop of pols were just as bad, and in some cases, worse than the ones we threw out.
Term limits is a partial answer.
My work in progress, coming soon to a web near you.
All 435 members of the House are up for re-election every two years. This list may be by some measure those that someone feels are for one reason or another vulnerable to challenge.
But after what we have gone through the past few years, every last one of them ought to be subject to scruitiny and have their seat on the block as well. In addition, there are roughly 33 Senators also up and they should be feeling the heat too.
Let’s face it, there are still a few good apples in the basket and those who are should be able to stand the scruitiny. Both parties as a whole have sold us down the river for far too long.
It is not just about “Throwing the Bums Out” it is sweeping the corruption out of government...that should be our goal.
VOTE AGAINST ALL INCUMBENTS. CLEAN HOUSE.
Actually, there’s 435 House seats in play but some will never change hands (or will they?).
Why assume any seat is safe from our scorn? Go after them, if not this time but the next and the next and so on. Through a concerted effort we pull the low hanging fruit off the tree intil the old stuff falls on its own accord. Eventually every apple will fall off the tree but sometimes it takes a stiff wind to secure the release.
Here is my similar post on 9-17-09. The blue congressmen names are links to profile page on each at GovTrack.us

I will be glad to share the spreadsheet or HTML with anyone who wants it.

Good effort, I had not figured out how to acquire the Senate data yet.
TF
All 435 House seats are up for re-election and in 2010 126 Senators could bite the dust, too. THROW THEM ALL UNDER THE BUS!!
“Both parties as a whole have sold us down the river for far too long.”

Bingo! We have a Winner!
You are 100% correct. It is time for a real “House Cleaning” in DC.
Including some “Agencies” that need to be eliminated.
I thought Jim Bunning had decided not to try for re-election this time around . . .
To illustrate how easy this is I'll list the steps;
1. I followed Texas Fossil's link here
2. In Internet Explorer or Firefox you just right click anywhere on the page and select "View Source".
3. This opens a new window with all the source code laid out. Now all you need to do is find the part you want. html tables always start and end with the command
. I just grabbed a small chunk for this example...
|
I don’t think our troops in the field can wait that long.
Sorry about not being that clear, the house races on my list are those expected to be competitive. The senate only has 100 seats and best I can figure something like 34 - 36 of them are up in 2010.
