Bank of America has suspended its current commitments to ACORN Housing, an affiliate of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), a scandal-hit U.S. liberal grassroots group, the Wall Street Journal said on Monday.

The banking company "will not enter into any further agreements with ACORN or any of its affiliates," pending assessments of the organization's operations, the paper quoted a Bank of America spokesman as saying.

This is HUGH. Conservatives have been putting big pressure on B of A in the past week, and it has paid off.

It’s never too late. A pillar of the left’s machine is crumbling.

Why is this happening now? Mr. and Mrs. John Doe are fed up and they won’t take this anymore.

If - and it’s a big ‘if’ - there are to be serious investigations into ACORN as a criminal enterprise, this is probably not enough to keep BofA from being named as a co-conspirator...

It’s NOT too little - and it’s NOT too late. All banks ACORN “took” need to get on board and shut down these ACORN criminals for good.

ACORN bullied the banks - I’m sure they hate ACORN more than we do...

DO NOT get comfortable.... they are constantly changing names. They’ve been around since at least 1975. They are mean spirited Commies who may have to hide out for a while and work behind the scenes, but they are tenacious.

Too bad we can’t bottle that type of tenaciousness and give to many on the right.

One welfare queen stops helping out another welfare queen and this is news? Both organizations should be going down in flames.

Fleet Bank of Boston was one of ACORN’s first shake-down victims decades ago, I believe, after initially putting up a pretty good fight. Fleet was acquired by B of A. Somewhere in that organization, there’s some bad blood, you may be sure, and some inside information that could ruin ACORN’s whole day.

Surprised? Not really—Bank of America knew that once the truth about ACORN came out, they better cut back on their relationship or the bank will face a PR fiasco—not good for bank business!

The banking company "will not enter into any further agreements with ACORN or any of its affiliates," pending assessments of the organization's operations, the paper quoted a Bank of America spokesman as saying.

Sounds like weasel wording that will permit them to reinstate it without any fanfare or public notice once the furor dies down...

So basically no “new” agreements. All the ones in place still stand-AND this is only until they review ACORN. A review that people like Podesta will do.

Pure weasel talk.
