U.S. Assures Fretful Britons: It’s Much Ado About Nothing
NYT ^ | September 24, 2009 | HELENE COOPER

PITTSBURGH — For the record, no, the White House was not snubbing Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Britain. Such a thought is “silly and absurd,” the White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, said Thursday.

The United States still has a special relationship with Britain, he said. The only reason the White House turned down five requests from the British for a meeting between President Obama and Mr. Brown this week is that they talk all the time, he said.

“Stop reading those London tabloids,” Mr. Gibbs said, swatting down the fuming by the British media that the prime minister was being disrespected by the Obama administration.

Of course, this is the same media that got all huffy when Mr. Obama gave Mr. Brown some DVDs of American movies last spring when the prime minister visited Washington. Mr. Brown had given Mr. Obama what the British newspapers decided was a much more thoughtful gift, a penholder made from the wood of a Victorian anti-slave ship.

To our great and loyal allies from the British Isles,

My apologies. Most Americans still consider you a much better ally than Venezuela and the Palestinian Authority. Unfortunately, however, we did not win the last election. We are very embarrassed. Once again I'm sorry.

Oh, nice. Call them ‘silly and absurd’ and insult them by inferring that they’re upset from ‘tabloid’ stories.

Dear Brits, these people are idiots and do no represent me or Americans I know.

Dear UK. We’ve elected idiots before. However, we’ve really outdone ourselves this time.

Please forgive us. Hopefully in three years, we’ll kick his loony butt so hard, he’ll land in Kenya.

We must remember that we’ve deprived his village of its resident idiot.

“the White House turned down five requests from the British for a meeting between President Obama and Mr. Brown this week....”

Well that doesn’t sound good.

Let’s see... A batch of DVD/CD’s that won’t play on EU equipment. An arrogant iPod full BS (Barak Speeches). And, now, snubbed five times when trying to get a meeting with the anointed one.

But, Hey! We still luv ya, Great Britain.

0bama is out of his league on the world stage.

Pay you back for the Colonization of Africa, you British swine.

Don’t tell me Obama doesn’t have a chip on his Black Nationalist shoulder.

Yeah, but I'd rather be on the side that gets to say "at least we don't have that guy." And they can get rid of theirs in another 8 months. I'm not a big fan of the parliamentary system but I'd love to take a 'no confidence' vote right about now.

Great Britain has chosen national suicide with the importation of millions of Pakistani muslims in lethal combination with socialist multiculturalism. They have a lot of bad karma over Ireland as well. The release of the Lockerbie bomber extinguishes any connection I may have had with them.

Probably couldn’t squeeze him in between Gaddafi, Chavez and Abbas. This regime is beyond disgusting.

Nobama’s apparently still pissed at Brown because he admitted that Nobama & Hitlery had known about the release of the Lockerbie bomber in advance, despite their fake indignation and strong words against it when it actually happened. Nobama doesn’t like being thrown under the bus by his co-conspirators, so he’s giving Brown the cold shoulder. No honor among scoundrels.

Be very generous by giving the benefit of the doubt that they directly talk to each other often (call logs please) let alone Gibbs' definition of "often" the fact is after the earlier goofs or slights, if a "special relationship" is still true then you schedule a meeting just to give the image of respect.

“Stop reading those London tabloids,”

Unfortunately, Mister Gibbs, those London Tabloids are giving us better information than a VERY biased MSM is!!

If the President is thrown under a bus and the media refuses to report it, is it still a betrayal?

Dear UK, our sheeple and your sheeple are equally stupid. We are unable to appreciate good and competent leaders. So, we here in the US wish you, the citizens of the UK, no ill will.

However, Our goofy POTUS and that slack jawed ninny of a PM of yours, are a different matter.

They deserve each other.

Respectfully yours, a US sheeple

Obama has gotten all these domestic groups mad at him and fighting with each other and he is getting our allies mad at him too: Israel, Poland, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Honduras...

The only people who have had nice things to say about him recently have been Putin and Qaddafi. Plus some ovations from the dictators at the UN.

Way to go.
