Decades of Global Cooling Ahead?

Global Warming: President Obama warns of planetary doom at the U.N. if we fail to pass cap-and-trade legislation. Meanwhile, a former warm-monger predicts decades of cooling as the sun stays nearly "spotless."

The president had hoped to address Tuesday's United Nations climate change summit in New York with a finished cap-and-trade bill. Failing that, he hoped he'd at least have a version of the Waxman-Markey bill that has passed the House on his desk before the Copenhagen talks in December to cobble together a follow-up to the failed Kyoto Protocol.

Yes, we are in a COOLING TREND NOW.

It’s been going on since the 90’s.

Obama has no credibility and will have less and less as truth prevails. Obama is an EVIL, LIAR and I make NO APOLOGY for THAT FACT.

With tinfoil snuggly applied to my cranium, I suspect that the Greenies knew all along that we were in for decades of cooling, and tried to ram through their CO2 emission caps now, then have the "proof" that the caps were working.

The hour is late because the globull warming fraud is being exposed.

And we have Al Gore's tireless championing of the issue to thank for that.

If you run into anyone who believes in the global warming canard, just ask them what the tempreture should be.

Then ask them what it was at the Gettysburg address. Or at the Continental Congress. Or during the Battle of Bull Run. And did it rain when the Magna Carta was signed. And then ask them what the weather should've been on those dates.

If they can't answer you, then tell them to get back to you when they can figure out what it should've been.

Mankind has always wanted to control the weather. When science discovers it can’t control the weather, they call it climate change and then try to control the people instead.

See tagline.

This week two new sunspots appeared on the surface of the sun after a 20 stretch since the last one. The previous spot appeared 51 days after a small number of spots and the sun was on course to perhaps set an annual record of spotless days.

This new activity indicates that the annual record is probably safe, but there has been a very long period of minimum activity for over 2 years now.

What is interesting about this year's lower average global temperatures is that they have dropped (in most regions) during a mild el Nino. If the sun is indeed beginning to ramp up to the cycle 24 maximum, this will occur along with an la Nina.

The coming years will bring many interesting natural phenomena and climatic results. We should learn a lot about the effects of the sun, ocean currents (simple term for oscillations), and many other natural influencers of temperatures.

But be careful to draw quick conclusions about what impacts climate. Just as the AGW crowd thinks very narrowly re CO2, it would be a mistake to think that there are NOT many other influencers that we have not yet fully explored or don't even yet recognize. For example, has anyone considered solar system cycles, solar system positioning within the galaxy or other astronomical influencers? The answer is “not when it comes to climate modeling”.

In the not to distant future not only will scientist be laughing at how “the consensus” concluded that CO2 was the most important forcer of temperatures (or that it was much important at all), they will be evaluating phenomena that are not even being considered today.

We can influence it. Earth has an iris, made of clouds. We can influence cloud formation and thereby control some of the weather if we want to.

LOL! 'Warm-monger', what an apt description! The sun had TWO, count em, TWO whole sunspots yesterday. Those were the first in 18 days, and we'd had periods of spotlessness for as long as 54 days at a stretch, prior to that. Even the folks at the Farmer's Almanac rely on sunspot info in determining their forecasts, and they say it's gonna be a chilly-willy winter!

Why would we want to deliberately alter the weather?
Isn't that like altering the flow of a stream, which is contrary to pure environmentalism?

Everything has an influence on the weather. Clouds. Sun Humidity. Moon gravitational pull. Certainly those entities are much more vast than the influence of a few humans, or cow farts.

Why would we want to deliberately alter the weather?

Many reasons: as a weapon of war, to improve our quality of life, to save money from cyclone damage, to stop an ice age or hot age. We already control the second half of the rain cycle through dams, lakes, and river control. Very little fresh water makes it back to the sea anymore without us saying where, when, and how much. Controlling the first half of the rain cycle is a logical next step. We can do it cost effectively with local cloud management, but not effectively with global CO2 management.

If I remember correctly, the "official" start of the cooling off cycle was to start in 1998. That means we've still got a lot of cooling coming.
If the liar libs don't grab all the worlds liberties they can now, they're going to have to go back to their "coming ice age" propaganda to deceive the next generation of public school kids.

There's going to be a problem with hybrid seeds. They'll germinate, but they won't bear fruits.
Non hybrids are sold by a company named "Gurneys Heirloom seed Company." These seeds can be saved and used again the following year, too, unlike hybrids.

The Global CLIMATE Change scam allows the scammers to proclaim “delicate balance being upset” REGARDLESS of which way the wind blows.

They need to go on record as to what the OPTIMAL global climate IS since our planet has fluctuated throughout history and PRE-history. And given the fluctuations that man has NOT affected, they need to propose just how drastic man should work to CHANGE “naturally occurring” climate change. And then they need to concretely PROVE that if man MADE it his goal to change annual temperatures by say 5 degrees worldwide within 10 years, that it could even be done.

In the absence of concrete proof that man is even capable of changing the climate significantly, then limits on the actions of man are misdirected and confiscatory.

"This isn’t about the climate and never has been...This is all about lots and lots of cash and who gets it."

The left is always eager to quote Eisenhower's farewell address when it comes to, "the military industrial complex," but that was only one of two concerns Ike articulated in that speech...

" Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

In this revolution, research has become central, it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite."

Somehow this part of Eisenhower's address never quite makes it into the leftist mantra....

At what impact to persons either at the equator or extreme northern or southern regions? Who gets to "call" the optimal temperature?

Most clouds are local: they exist well below airline cruise altitude and rain out within 20 miles. Each state, tropical, and polar region, can choose their own climate to some degree, and sell higher altitude man-made clouds to their neighbors. Local elected politicians can decide cloud policy much like they already do with water policy. It's obvious we should focus on cloud research instead of CO2 research, but cloud technology offers nothing to advance the UN or socialists. So they pretend clouds aren't even a factor in climate, when in fact they are the main factor, second only to the Sun.

There are several types of clouds. If they are going to claim that a butterfly flapping its wings in Africa leads to hurricanes elsewhere then man made alterations in the weather are going to be cited (right or wrong) for a flash flood someone experiences somewhere in the world.

Charles Perry, a research hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Lawrence, Kan., says there's a growing sense in the scientific community that the earth may be entering into a "grand minimum" - an extended period with low numbers of sunspots that results in cooler planetary temperatures.

SirKit and I are suggesting it be called the Algore Minimum, or at least the Hansen-Gore Minimum, to cement, for posterity, the duplicity, if not the stupidity, of those men.

Actually, it was plain and simple weather here in MI.

The plants are JUST getting to the point of producing. My hubby and I are talking about bringing in containers for the winter and letting them continue in the front room of our house.

It’s only used for the cat box and the Christmas tree. It gets lots of sun and can support hanging baskets.
