"This book really isn't about using abortion as birth control," she told ABCNews.com. "She is unconsciously sabotaging contraception for self-mutilation. It's a way of escaping feeling empty."
But Vilar blames much of her poor choices on a hypersexualized society that at once values the perfect mother, but also expects women to be sexually attractive to men and to achieve professionally.
Sounds like a sick, sick woman -- at least she seems to understand that she has a problem (while at the same time blaming society for it, she is trying to make herself out to be a victim). Pray for her.

I’m certainly not excusing what she’s done, But to continually opt for abortion as a birth control method when so many other forms are available (and I agree with Pope Paul VI on that topic) implies some weird kind of compulsion. It reminds me of the story of the Asian woman who disfigured herself by multiple plastic surgeries and botox injections. After the doctors finally quit treating her, she started injecting herself with vegetable oil. Sick, Sick, Sick.

She worries about being called a baby killer, well she is. They are not puppies.
I do not believe her story, I believe she is a fraud.

Something like this is sad beyond jokes.
Did she have some kind of neurotic compulsion which drove her to repeatedly initiate pregnancies then get the unborn baby killed? I’d think that once the neurosis problem was resolved, the horror alone would push most women in this position into a diamond hard pro-life stance.

I hope that too. This string of killings is ghastly almost beyond human imagination — but it is not the unforgivable sin.

Yeah, she's a twisted sickie all right--but so are all pro-aborts. And before we forget, nearly half of all abortions in this country are repeat abortions. Millions of aborted twisted women, and we wonder why Obama got elected.

I hope she doesn't discount their value as human beings like she did her pre born children!

Vilar's pregnancies became compulsively self-destructive: After her 9th and 10th abortions, she "needed another self-injury to get the high." Oh it's a SELF-injury, is it? She's a sociopath.
Vilar attended boarding school in New Hampshire and was just 15 when she left for Syracuse University, where she fell in love and later married her first husband, a tyrannical 50-year-old professor.
With a predilection for young women, he bragged that his relationships had never lasted more than five years and that having children killed sexual desire.
She says their emotionally dependent relationship was riddled with shame, self-mutilation and several suicide attempts.
That first husband was apparently Pedro Cuperman, still a Spanish professor at Syracuse.
She finds stability and love with a new husband, a writer and poet, and she builds a new family, reveling in the motherhood she once thought was impossible.
Impossible? Just because she kept murdering her children? Anyway her current husband is apparently Peter Grandbois; they appear to live in Boulder, Colorado (though he's also on the faculty at Cal State Fresno)...good place for them.

She claims fear - and pretends to seek seclusion while leaking just enough info for everyone to figure out exactly who she is.Exactly; see my post 38.
