You'll probably recall the Singing Senators. Can you imagine them singing this??? Ok, enough laughing already! The shame is there SHOULD BE multiple vocally talented GOP Senators and Congressmen singing this into the Congressional Record. It is exactly appropriate and fitting to the spirit of Victor Hugo, his great novel and its musical adaptation. Even more so when I consider what was left out of the musical, such as Cosette being Fantine's daughter by a member of the French legislature, who promptly abandoned both. The only downer is I recall how things turned out at the barricade, both in the story and in the real French history on which it's based.

Great work Doug, as usual, although I still consider your Reagan tribute to the same tune as your best work ever.

Good job, Les Mis is great, the tenth anniversary performance at Albert Hall was one of Public Tv’s few great moments-eventually I purchased it on DVD to avoid all the beg-a-thons.
