But back in Chicago, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now ( ACORN ) is more important than Iraq or Washington. ACORN and its associated Midwest Academy, both founded in the 1970s, continue to train and mobilize activists throughout the country, often using them to manipulate public opinion through “direct action.” It's sometimes a code for illegal activities.
Prior to law school, Barack Obama worked as an organizer for their affiliates in New York and Chicago. He always has been an ACORN person — meeting and working with them to advance their causes. Through his membership on the board of the Woods Fund for Chicago and his friendship with Teresa Heinz Kerry, Obama has helped ensure that they remain funded well.
Since he graduated from law school, Obama ‘s work with ACORN and the Midwest Academy has ranged from training and fundraising, to legal representation and promoting their work.

At first glance, I wondered if this story will make a big difference - because ACORN will likely say it’s an isolated incident, and that the rest of their employees are squeaky clean.
But ANYTHING that exposes the sleazy tactics of ACORN will cause rightful disgust among law abiding Americans, and no story is too small when it shows the truth.
So it remains to be seen what the effect will be, especially in Beck’s deft hands and the legal ramifications. ACORN needs to be called on every ounce of corruption.
This could hurt a bit if we use it correctly.
Start compiling lists of all the politicians who have steered money to, or supported, ACORN. Including Obama, who told an ACORN audience that they will help steer his agenda.

Actually, this is intimately connected to healthcare. Just imagine the advice ACORN can offer illegal immigrants about how they too can sign up for Obamacare. Rep. Wilson was rude to call Obama a liar on this issue, but nevertheless quite accurate: even the Congressional Research Service backs him up.
