Holder's Black Panther Stonewall
Wall Street Journal ^ | 8/20/2009 | John Fund

President Obama's Justice Department continues to stonewall inquiries about why it dropped a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party.

The episode—which Bartle Bull, a former civil rights lawyer and publisher of the left-wing Village Voice, calls "the most blatant form of voter intimidation I've ever seen"—began on Election Day 2008. Mr. Bull and others witnessed two Black Panthers in paramilitary garb at a polling place near downtown Philadelphia. (Some of this behavior is on YouTube.)

...

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights voted on Aug. 7 to send a letter to Justice expanding its own investigation and demanding more complete answers. "We believe the Department's defense of its actions thus far undermines respect for rule of law," its letter stated. It noted "the peculiar logic" of one Justice argument, that defendants' failure to show up in court was a reason for dismissing the case: "Such an argument sends a perverse message to wrongdoers—that attempts at voter suppression will be tolerated so long as the persons who engage in them are careful not to appear in court to answer the government's complaint.

OK, might there still be some legs to this issue? Is the hypocrisy too great?

February 2009, wednesday the 18th:

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,” said Holder, nation’s first black attorney general.

I’m not sure if that was an opinion, challenge or taunt.

Agreed.

Holder needs to completely explain the legal basis for his “charging decisions” in this case.

Maybe he thinks that just ignoring the questions will make it go away(?)

AG staff morale must be at an all time low.

Holder was mentored by Janet Reno.
I expect a Waco or Ruby Ridge type incident soon to get the MSM covering something other than the economy / health care and show the evil right wingers who’s boss.

Lots of things seem to be disappearing down the memory hole these days.

For example, where are the indictments of the other players in the Blagojevich senate-seat-for-sale fiasco? Why did the Feds call off the hounds when it looked like Obama himself might have been involved?

And how come the press and the government alike are so uncurious about the quid-pro-quo corruption involved in the sweethart deal for Michelle Obama's high-paying hospital job funded with (effectively) stolen taxpayer dollars?

And what is Tony Rezko up to these days, and did he sing like a canary? And what does that say about Obama's circle of corrupt friends?

Etc., etc. etc.

so in thenext election a white guy holds a stick outside a polling booth

I’m sure the state run elitist media and the loon left will just ignore it

I say this to all those left sheep and cult like idiots on the left.

If this had been a white man you would be going mad. but because it is black racist and a black guy let them go you say nothing.

you make me sick.

color should not matter in any kind of racism and yet for you left idiots you ignore black racism and black intimidation.

You all need to take a good long look in the mirror and realise what a bunch of racist sheep like idiots you all are.
you would never let a white guy get away with this and rightly so and yet you let a lack guy and then you try to take the moral high ground

well no way you have been found out for who you are.
No wonder I and many others are not with you nor was MLK who was a great man.

you care about what your party leaders say instead of using your own common sense and because of this they laugh at you but you’re just too dumb to realise it

It noted "the peculiar logic" of one Justice argument, that defendants' failure to show up in court was a reason for dismissing the case:

I have read and re-read this sentence several times and I was aware that this was the logic used when DOJ dismissed these goons...and yet, I read and still can't quite believe it.

So, this is the equation...
   Blatantly break the law
+ don't show up for court to answer the charges
= get off scot free.

WOW! (but wow in a really bad way)

I guess we all can just rob banks (for cash), convenience stores (for smokes & beer), and little girl's lemon stands (for general refreshment) and No Worries.

That's a great place to find our society. Thank you Mr Holder...you idiot

don't forget that he wanted a color blind nation.

does affirmative action sound color blind to you or anyone else?

I have just ranted about this but will say it again as I am so fed up with it.

I have just got back from the supermarket.
stood in line for ages
why?
because two massive women and I mean massive were getting loads of stuff
ok so what I hear.
well one of them had the obama shirt on and on it it said black power.
then the reason why it took ages was because they were getting all this stuff using food stamp card and WIC

MLK never wanted handouts, he wanted people to work and to be given a job based on work ethic and education, experience etc.

just even wearing that shirt made me sick as would a shirt saying white power. sorry for the rant but the hypocrisy and the way this country has gone in such a short time is saddening

a job and the money you have earned gives you a self respect, it teaches your kids that by working it will pay for what you want.
