Why They Really Want to Kill Off the Elderly and Disabled
Economic Policy Journal ^ | 8/8/09 | Robert Wenzel

What's really behind the push in the healthcare bill to limit, by government decree, healthcare options? It's because of the government's medicare Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff look like just a simple short-game grifter.

As Gary North points out, Medicare's hospital fund is already bankrupt:

This is taken from a March 25, 2008 press release from the U.S. government's Department of Health and Human Services. This year the HI Trust Fund will spend more than its income, and from 2009 through 2017, about $342 billion will need to be transferred from the Federal treasury to cover beneficiaries' hospital insurance costs.

The hospital trust fund is the heart of Medicare. How is medicare going to make up the difference? It is going to sell off non-marketable Treasury IOU's back to the Treasury? What is that going to mean? Here is North again:

If the trust fund were filled with corporate bonds or bonds issued by foreign governments, the sale of trust fund assets would not have any effect on the Federal deficit. But because the trust fund contains nothing but Treasury IOUs, it will have an effect on the deficit. It will raise it.

This means that funds from general revenues must pay Medicare obligations this year. Problem: General revenues in fiscal 2009 are expected to be $1.8 trillion in the red...Part of that general fund deficit is covered by Social Security revenues (FICA). These revenues are paid into Social Security by employers and employees. Excess revenues after Social Security payouts are transferred to the Treasury in exchange for nonmarketable IOU's from the Treasury.

The increase in the debt for Social Security's trust fund does not appear on the on-budget debt of the U.S. government, i.e., the debt reported by the various government debt clocks. It is off-budget debt. The public is unaware of this.

This cookie jar is expected to be empty in 2017, as the Trustees report. But the recession is creating unemployment. Unemployed people do not pay FICA taxes. So, the 2017 date is optimistic. The cookie jar could be empty as early as 2013, according to Prof. Kent Smetters of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Smetters is an expert on the issue of the two programs' trust funds. His 2005 testimony before Congress on the off-budget unfunded liability -- $83 trillion -- is here (pdf). Like Bernie Madoff's scam, the government's medicare/social security scam is about to be overloaded with money demands. The government won't be able to meet these demands given its current expenditures and income stream. Aside from printing money, the only option the government has is to cut expenditures. Got the picture? So where are they going to cut? The young that they can patch up and put back into the workforce, or those whose working days are over?

If you are no longer working, the government considers you a burden. You have already had your "good years". (Translation: "Good years" = Taxpaying years)

Overall, one-fourth (24 percent) of the elderly population reports their health status as fair or poor. Chronic conditions requiring increased contact with the medical care system and ongoing health care costs are more prevalent in the elderly population than in the non-elderly population.

When you here government managed care, think government decisions on who gets what care and when.

Bottom line: There are two steps that need to be taken, let the young start saving up and buying their own health insurance. Under their own control, they are not going to put their money into nutty programs that kill then off when they get older. For those trapped, Bernie Madoff style, in the current system, well, they stripped Mrs. Madoff of her playthings, including her house, her furs and her jewelry. It's time to follow Ron Paul's advice and strip the government of its playthings, wars here, wars there, outposts here and outposts there and use the money to pay for healthcare for the elderly Americans who built this country, but were conned by their government that now wants to kill them off.

I can think of a lot more cynical explanations than this!

1. The 65 and older group is the ONLY demo that went GOP in the last election.

2. Relative to younger ones, a disproportionate share of folks in this age group are white, and many in the RAT party believe they receive a disproportionate, undeserved share of the nation’s resources.

Just remember when the say the word “elderly” they aren't necessarily taking about the guy with the walker - if you are 55 or older, you are the government’s official “elderly”.

They do not care if you are working or not. You are a burden - and you are more likely to be well educated, then the younger folks, and thus less easily persuaded to believe the latest lie.

Getting rid of the “elderly” is about population control - this year's middle aged are next year's elderly - today it is the 65 year olds, tomorrow it is the 55 year olds... who will need mandatory end of life counseling.

Wouldn't killing off the "burdens to society" (the elderly and disabled) be cruel and unusual punishment? I thought that was unconstitutional.

No. liberals think that executing criminals - murders, those who rape children, terrorists, and other democrat voters - is cruel and unusual punishment. Otherwise, killing off the unwanted is standard operating procedure. It would only be a "punishment" if someone encouraged a pregnant woman to let her baby live.

Meanwhile EVIL SCIENTISTS are working on the telomerase enzyme which might, GULP, cure cancer and other diseases and extend human life.

Fortunately, the Obama folks will keep this pallative for their own use and kill off the rest of us. Then they can move to Mount Olympus and live like Gods.

PHOOEY!

I think the true purpose of Obamacare is becoming clearer all the time to those who ignore the DNC propaganda they get from the MSM and look hard at the language of HR3200.

The hysterical reaction from the White House and the DNC to the bill's particulars being published on the internet (in many different websites) is telling. Liberals know full well what this bill proposes to do and they also know that it has absolutely no chance of meeting with the approval of a majority of Americans, once the facts are known about what's in the bill.

It will drastically alter the quality of American health care by forcing doctors and hospitals to take on millions of new patients while receiving less money under Obamacare. It doesn't take a PhD to figure out that means care rationing and the inevitable waiting lists and long lines at government-run clinics that assures. The language of the bill - by omission - allows taxpayer-funded care for illegal aliens, for abortions under any circumstance and abrogates the state restrictions on abortions now in place as well as hastening the early retirement of physicians anywhere near the retirement age because they will refuse to have government bureaucrats dictate their treatment of patients and the fees they can charge. Medical school enrollments will crash, for good reason, as becoming a doctor will hold no interest when government bureaucrats second-guess your every decision as well as set your pay.

It is loaded with mandates that are anathema to freedom-loving Americans and even allows the government access to your bank account! Government bureaucrats will determine your health care, not your doctor - he has to follow government 'guidelines' conveniently posted on his desktop computer - and he will be monitored by a government bureaucracy to track his compliance with those 'guidelines'. Your doctor's income will be determined by a government 'board'. Senior citizens (over 65) will be hardest hit with 'end-of-life counseling' and bereaucrats determining what, if any, medical resources will be allowed for those with a terminal illness. This bill is a nightmare for the elderly and disabled.

Many websites go through the individual rules in HR 3200, line by line. They are frightening. This is what scares the Obama White House and the DNC. They are trying to put one over on the American people using the trumped-up, completely fake health care 'crisis' - and now, the mask is off. The left is is full panic mode, even to point of sending union (SEIU) goons to physically assault those opposing this monstrosity of a bill at a Tea-Party, anti-Obamacare rally in Saint Louis, MO.

As Supreme Court Justice Lewis Brandeis once said: "sunshine is the best disinfectant". The then-progressive jurist wasn't referring to a government health care bill before congress but the words still resonate and apply directly to HR 3200 - Obamacare.

The gubbermint will never admit it but the cost-cutting to be achieved by abandoning the elderly is substantial. The cold hard fact is that for the average American, the vast majority of his lifetime medical bills are incurred during the last six months of life.

For the ten percent or so of the elderly who are in Medicare/Medicaid-paid long-term nursing home care, the figure can easily be upwards of six thousand dollars a month, sometimes for years on end before the last six months is even reached.

The bureaucrats and socialist control freaks look at those hundreds of billions and literally salivate with anticipation of how much control they could achieve with all that money. The wishes of the people, much less their very lives, mean nothing to them.

Yes they are and no-body cares to do anything about this. All the young ones ONLY care about their cell phones and texting, the middle age folks follow “American Idol”.

No one will be left to bail out these numb nuts!

That bunch of greedy, power hungry traitors have raided every fund that they could, and unfortunately, SS and Medicare fell victims to their greed too. Killing seniors is their answer, but mine is to get rid of them. Then, they can’t hurt any more Americans!! Just wait until moms, dads and grandparents start dying because they won’t pay for their medical care. People aren’t going to like that one bit. EVERYONE is affected. We all have loved ones in that group.

I do. I’m middle-aged, no American Idol here. Everyday I follow the fall of my country, so much so that it is weighing down my soul. I will not let down the heroes who came before me with apathy.
