He could have said the elections irrelevant from our standpoint since we have to play the cards were dealt; he could have noted, as Obamas often done in the past, that true power resides in the supreme leader so its only his legitimacy thats at issue; or he could have told the truth and said that all Iranian elections are shams since true reformers arent allowed on the ballot. Instead, so desperate are these tools to get Iran to the bargaining table and show Americans some sort of dividend from Hopenchange diplomacy that Gibbs actually acknowledges Ahmadinejad as the elected leader the same lie the regimes been telling the world and the same lie Iranians have been dying in the streets to challenge

“Oh, and in case youve forgotten, Obama himself has already set a September deadline for negotiations to happen before he starts pushing for a new round of sanctions against Iran. Which means Gibbs endorsed the election result to preserve the possibility of talks for another eight whole weeks. Eight weeks.”
They’ve been busy...might have a bomb by then...liven up the old peace talks...
Yeah, the way 0 was elected?
George Bush's legacy and fight endures in the Mid East, despite, and in spite of Obama, and THAT is Obama's real dilema.
It was George Bush's policy of direct engagement and support of liberty that has led to the people of Iran seeing the measure of freedom now established on both sides of them in Iraq and Afghjanistan...and desiring it for themselves.
Obama cannot possibly go too far in recognizing that, or he absolutely repudiates himself and his entire foreign policy.
...but Obama doesn't want to "meddle".
The fight in Iran goes on.

"There is only one force of history that can break the reign of hatred and resentment, and expose the pretensions of tyrants, and reward the hopes of the decent and tolerant, and that is the force of human freedom.
"All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: The United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you.
"Democratic reformers facing repression, prison or exile can know: America sees you for who you are -- the future leaders of your free country.
"The rulers of outlaw regimes can know that we still believe as Abraham Lincoln did: "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves; and, under the rule of a just God, cannot long retain it."

iran style.
Is Obama too busy cracking down on Honduras and trying to install a fellow Marxist?
One wonders why democrats favor jihadi dictators so much. Maybe it’s because deep down, they are very similar.
Personally I think they're jealous of that absolute power.
0bama is such a (*%&# moron! He’s throwing the Iranian people under the bus and slapping the families of the dead in the face.
But then, I wouldn’t trust a Democrat to admit to a rigged election.
I’m sure the evil 0 only views the Iranian dead as potential voters for 2010....
