Resolution says Hawaii Obama's birthplace

WASHINGTON, July 27 (UPI) -- Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii, countering a movement challenging President Barack Obama's U.S. birth, introduced a measure commemorating Hawaii's statehood.

Hawaii celebrates its 50th anniversary in August. Ambercrombie's non-bonding resolution to commemorate the Aloha State's admission has a slight twist -- it also describes Hawaii as Obama's birthplace, the Daily Kos reported Monday.

So-called birthers argue -- despite credible evidence to the contrary -- that Obama is not U.S. born and so is ineligible to be president. Obama's campaign last year provided a copy of his certificate of live birth issued by Hawaii.

"In the language of the resolution, there is a statement that Hawaii is the birthplace of the 44th president of the United States," Abercrombie spokesman Dave Helfert said.

Truth is Truth. A Counterfeit is a Counterfeit. Saying obamanation was born in hawaii sure doesn’t make it so... IF it really were TRUE, why try and pawn off a counterfeit birth certificate on us, like we were dumb? It is because the obamanation has used the alinsky play book on how to take over a country and make it communist. Actually, so-called birthers just want Mr. Transparency to allow his actual birth certificate (or offically scanned in copy) to be released. You know the one with the doctor's signature.

Did you know when you adopt a US infant, and are foreign parents, the country of the parent’s in the adoption can change the citizenship to that of the country of the parents?

It’s routinely done all the time, and is usually noted on the child’s birth certificate/adoption records.

Just publish the long form birth certificate, and it's all done. What is on that document that Obama’s afraid of? Because up until July of last year, we'd be required to offer the long version to the US government if we were applying for benefits, it'd be required if we wanted a driver's license or a marriage license, but apparently, isn't required for a president to submit to ensure he lives up to the letter of the constitution.

Personally, I rolled my eyes when I first heard about this. But now? After all these months, not one mainstream reporter has sued Hawaii for a release of the long form document. It is a public document which is not generally released without a person's consent, but it is not a private document. A FOIA lawsuit should at the very least put the document in a judge's hands to review.
