Asked about recent comments Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.) and James Inhofe (OK) have made, suggesting that GOP would benefit politically if President Obamas health care agenda was stalled, Republican Whip Jon Kyl said, I dont agree with that kind of language.
Because the language has a political implication, Kyl added, I think thats unfortunate. Both sides talk about the politics of this. I dont think we should be focused on that. A week ago, Demint evoked Napoleonic metaphor, saying, If were able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.
Speaking to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt last Thursday, Inhofe said, We can stall it. And thats going to be a huge gain for those of us who want to turn this thing over in the 2010 election.

Kyl, another WUSS from Arizona(another mistake that was admitted in to MY union in the 1900s).
Jon Kyl is bipolar with this BHO administration. I don’t get him at all.
Stooges, why are you quick to fall into the BS pit.
We already have a poser president and his minions making this issue overtly about him and his prestige and his party
We the people need patriots who make this what it is- about America, our values, our liberties, our respect for life (including old people who want knee and hip replacements- BOTH SIDES) and parents who want lifesaving surgery for their severely disabled kids who the Singer ethicicists think should die in the interest of society.
This issue is NOT, should NOT be, about "obama" or about GOP political posturing
Unlike Kyl, DeMint actually sees the danger of having a marxist POS in office.
I saw this interview and thought Kyl was fine on his comments on the Health Care monstrosity, but I did object to this line. Republicans should not only be objecting to Obamacare, but to all of Obama's execrable policies, and therefore he should have stood by DeMint.
Jon Kyl is a pro-illegal alien liberal RINO...so no one should be surprised with his criticizing DeMint, Inhofe...
Besides, how are the Blue Dogs supposed to feel when the GOP gloats (prematurely imho) about obama’s “waterloo”. They need to be supported, they are acting braver than the GOP.
In this issue- partisanship is distasteful to me. FOCUS on my future, and my kids’ future guys.....not your reelection.
You don’t think DeMint sees the larger picture of what’s going on? You sound like the people who got their panties in a knot over Rush hoping that Obama fails.
Their comments won’t make it more probably that the Dems will pass the bill.
Democrats already know if they don’t pass it, Obama suffers greatly.
They didn’t need a member of the dumbo party to tell them this.
These squishy mods are really ticking me off.
They don’t get this is warfare. In war, you want your efforts to succeed and your enemies to go down in flames.
In war, you don’t give a flying fig about upsetting their delicate sensibilities.
Slowing down this “debate” is what we need.
Kyl is wrong.
At the root of Kyl’s comment is an assumption that something can/will/should be done to healthcare in the US. Starting with that assumption makes an immediate loser out of all of us, IMO. A basic tenet of conservatism is to retain the status quo until such time as a proper alternative is fully vetted through the process. The current “hurry up and get it passed before they know what is happening” doesn’t qualify for a fully vetted process.
He thinks the legislature shouldn't be political? What the he** does he think all this sh** is about if it's not political? What an idiot. I tell ya, we have to weed out these stupid RINOs.
Will the rough rhetoric kill this thing, or does it distract? I think it distracts, which is what those sneaky Marxists do best.
every time someone makes this issue about the GOP vs Obama- another liberal talking head gets his wings - ding
We all KNOW it is about Obama but giving that POS the ammo to play the martyr of partisan politics makes me grit my teeth
How dumb can the GOP be. Shuddup about Obama and talk about defeating this bill so the democrats won’t use healthcare rationing as an excuse for some govt clerk to order the doctors to put Grandma out of her suffering with pain pills... cheap pain pills
Kyl supported the McCain amnesty.
