"Though Obama was roundly cheered by the All-Star fans, his live presence still didn't attract the applause that George W. Bush did during a taped announcement by the four previous Presidents before the game and some boos could even be heard among the cheers."

When I heard weeks ago that Chairman maObama was going to throw the ceremonial first pitch, my initial reaction was I'd have to turn it off. But, I decided to watch and hope to hear at least a smattering of boos. The only problem would be if "The Best Fans in Baseball" would be too courteous and/or too respectful of the game to boo. Althought that would be understandable, it would be disappointing.

No worries. Although the cheers were clearly louder, they couldn't drown out the chorus of boos. My wife and I loved the sound of it. The fans in St. Louis didn't let us down. It was great.

Also did you see how the driver of that vehicle wanted nothing to do with him?

“Who outside of Chicago or has ties to Chicago cares about the White Sox?”

First, the White Sox have won a championship recently; the Cubs not in the last hundred years or so.

Second, the Sox are part of one of the greatest legends of baseball: the infamous “Black Sox” scandal. Nothing in Cubs history can compete with that, in my opinion.

Fox’s coverage was ridiculous. Ridiculous! They showed Obama in close-up. No wide shot, no plate. No replay. I had to go to the interweb to see the pitch. And I know exactly why: they didn’t want to embarass him if he came up short. Poor, poor, pitiful performance, Fox.

Rush Limbaugh played a montage of a half-dozen or so MSM sycophants praising his so-called pitch, "over the plate," "to the glove," etc. when, in fact, it was nothing of the sort.

The replay I saw during ESPN's post-game coverage revealed the truth; it was a pitiful, 59' rainbow toss that bounced in front of the plate, something I'd expect from the likes of Michelle, or Bawney Fwank. What a wuss. No wonder Fox was tight on Obama and didn't show the whole story. I wouldn't be surprised if that was per White House orders (and it didn't occur to them to say anything to ESPN).

I'll never forget Dubya's post-9/11 ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium. He walked to the rubber (past the temporary 'ladies tee' Obama should have had) and threw a strike.

We are talking about St Louis Cardinals here and they don’t care about the White Sox but they hate the Cubs. Even though I am in OK this is St. Louis Cardinal territory — we get all their games on the radio and all their televised games.
