FOX: The Mind-boggling Extremism of Obama “Science Czar” John P. Holdren
Fox ^ | 7/14/09 | Kathy Shaidle

Posted on 07/14/2009 11:28:12 AM PDT by pissant

As part of his series of profiles on President Barack Obama’s many policy “czars,” last night FOX News host Sean Hannity looked at the new “Science Czar”, John P. Holdren.

Holdren’s official titles are: Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Assistant to the President for Science and Technology; and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

The longtime Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Holdren is no stranger to controversy.

As Hannity pointed out in his segment, Holdren has been quoted as calling the United States the “meanest of wealthy countries.” He has also, according to Hannity, “left the door open” to prosecuting “global warming deniers.”

The GOP is worse than useless. Holdren is an extreme statist and the party of individual liberty is content burnishing Holdren’s phony “credentials”.

Viewing capitalism as an economic system that is inherently harmful to the natural environment, Holdren and Ehrlich in 1973 called for “a massive campaign … to de-develop the United States” and other Western nations in order to conserve energy and facilitate growth in underdeveloped countries. “De-development,” they said, “means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation.” “By de-development,” they elaborated, “we mean lower per-capita energy consumption, fewer gadgets, and the abolition of planned obsolescence.”

Ah, so now we see why Obama picked him. Fellow-travelers they are...

My guess is that they are gazing at their navels wondering why conservative voters like you and me dispise them.

Last I heard the GOP was VERY INTENT on blocking the health care debacle which they are trying to push thru THIS WEEK.

Please let them stick to that and NOT be distracted. That's the biggest issue on the table right now.

The best thing that could happen would be for him to prosecute deniers. Then the issue would have to go to the courtroom, and we would then get testimonies by experts, cross examination, maybe even Al Gore testifying, and we would then see who the true deniers are.

Well they do seem to be able to attracts phone banks of people to call me a few times every evening. I am really tired of it. It is harassment from the National Party. I refuse to give them any money, so they keep calling over and over and over.

The last time I answered, I asked if they could tell me why 8 republicans voted for cap and trade. They said they didn't know, and I pointed out that it was their job to know.

He is cut from the same cloth as the early 20th century Progressives, especially with regards to eugenics.

The following passages are claimed to be from his 1977 book:

Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.

and this

In today's world, however, the number of children in a family is a matter of profound public concern. The law regulates other highly personal matters. For example, no one may lawfully have more than one spouse at a time. Why should the law not be able to prevent a person from having more than two children?

What is with all the poorly disguised profanity on Free Republic lately? Can’t anyone express their concern without profanity? Looks a lot like DU.

To be honest, stopping a health care bill is more important than yelling and screaming about a poop czar imho.. That is just me.

Sane, intelligent, well-informed people already know the leftists are liars. No court case will affect the opinions of anyone else.

One of the reasons the leftists attack America at all points across the board simultaneously is to take advantage of the propensity of non-fanatics to prioritize and leave some points undefended. This provides the left with easy small victories that contribute to their overall momentum.

Take comfort sheeple.

Rent and watch Idiocracy and ask yourself “Self, I wonder if they are aiming at me or the idiots that breed like rabbits.” Remember that all the Eugenics movements were started in order to control the boogie-boo RACE of the time.
