Here he goes again on his own. Going down the only road hes ever known.
OK, David Coverdale isnt totally on his own. The 57-year-old singer has a new Whitesnake lineup behind him. But he is going down the only road hes ever known on an old-fashioned, heavy-metal double bill: Whitesnake and Judas Priest play the Comcast Center on Tuesday.
As Coverdale pointed out in a phone interview from his Lake Tahoe home, Youre not going to listen to Whitesnake for environmental songs or to change your life. Youre going to listen to Whitesnake for hard rock.

Hard rock my a$$! Altho they released a few decent songs early in their career (BEFORE they hit the big time), once they started getting radio airplay they became nothing but another cheesy hair metal pop band.

I would go just for them, and leave when their set was over.

The loon became a citizen so he could vote for Obama. Hmm. I think I’ll go become Chinese because I don’t like the way they do things over there.

...But (the Bush years) were extremely difficult years for any artist to express themselves truthfully because the odds were stacked against them. Anytime they made any political statement, the hard right was on them like flies on poop. It was insulting to artists dignity not to have the freedom of speech this country is so highly regarded for.Really? I could have sworn there was an awful lot of anti-Bush "artistic expression" spewing from the piehole of many an entertainer. Aside from the Dixie Chicks (who were morons for ticking off their country fanbase), none really faced any repercussions. Poor, wounded Coverdale is rewriting history. Who even knew he was still alive?

VH-1 aired a show recently about the Reagan years and music. Dee Snider of Twisted Sister blasted Republicans often while he and the narrator mentioned how conservatives tried to limit artists free speech. Meanwhile, the video portion of the footage showed Tipper Gore. D’oh.

Yeah and she ended up dumping Coverdale and dating OJ.

The hard right was on anyone who disagreed with Bush. Un huh. And how did this silence them? They make it sound as if they somehow ended up in prisons or re-education camps. You just know though if the left tries to do that to us, these voices for “free expression” would go right along with it.

Judas Priest is obviously the headliner of this show. Whitesnake isn't even fit to shine their studded guitar straps.
Most fans won't even enter the venue until Judas Priest is preparing to take to the stage.

No joke, but David Coverdale did get dumped and divorced by the coke snorting, husband abusing, crazy as a loon (but once upon a time terribly hot hot hot chick) Tawny Kitaen.

Wanna see gay? Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki3TpFZY7cU
Uhh, shirtless guys working out in a gym while Halford is um, doing push ups? Except I can only assume that is what it is because he goes up and down and you only see him from shoulders up. But noooo, he was too cool to be gay! ha

No, never saw them. I was just a wee headbanger in the 80s. Too wide-eyed and innocent to notice the naughty stuff, anyway. By the time I would have noticed, hair bands were out and I wasn’t particularly buying their albums.
Still in love with Joe Elliott, though, but that’s a fantasy for another day. :)

The above album kicks butt!
I really don't care about the political opinions of celebrity critters, but Whitesnake was a pretty good band. I'm an '80s kid, so what do I know. I like saying Poison is better than Nirvana just to watch 90s era grunge fans heads explode. :-)

Wow, how pathetic.
Two things:
One, look at the pic in the article. He’s old, but not in an unnattactive way. With short hair and a nice suit, he’d be the picture of English gentility. Instead, he wears a wig that isn’t fooling anyone, and a black leather jacket. Sorry, Dave, it doesn’t work.
Two, how sad is it that this guy became a US citizen just to promote Barack Obama???

Ted Nugent is the only Rockin Roller that is conservative that I know of. Johnny Ramone who passed away 5 years ago was another one. Johnny got so much hate from the media in 2002 when inducted into the RR Hall of Fame in 2002 when he said, "God Bless George Bush and God bless America". If it wasn't for Johnny, the Ramones would of broken up in 1980. They retired in 1996.
I still wear my Ramones eagle T-shirt with pride.
Hey ho, lets go.

In this instance, the Herald is a newspaper which leans to the right. FWIW, the editorial board endorsed McCain over Obama in the most recent Presidential election and in the past favored the Republican candidate (Bush, for instance). This column was in the entertainment section.
To: MassRepublicanFlyersFan
Wow, a rock star holds left wing views. I’m shocked.
