POLITICO: Palin plans to stay visible
Politico ^ | 7/3/2009 | Mike Allen

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin plans to remain extremely visible and will give serious consideration to running for president in 2012, but has made no decision, a close friend said after her startling announcement Friday that she will resign her office.

Friends say Palin plans to spend time writing her book, which is due this fall, then promote it heavily when it comes out in spring 2010.

Palin is by far the Republican Party's biggest draw for fund-raisers and conservative events, and the friends say she plans to spend a lot of time traveling in "the lower 48" states, as Alaskans call the continental U.S.

Those friends say she plans to give a series of paid speeches, and will also make free GOP appearances, raising money for the party and for issues. She also plans to help other candidates, collecting political IOUs for herself.

I doubt that she would have a chance. She isn’t part of the Republican establishment.

Unfortunately, we need more like her. The Republican party is lacking a soul right now.

I wish her the best.

They probably said the same of Reagan in the early days...

Did you notice she barely had to look at her notes? And NO teleprompter!

I hadn’t heard that, but it sure makes sense—including what the time zone difference would have done to Rush’s bedtime. He and Hannity and Levin could be a great start to getting her beyond the MSM’s clutches.

She's not the only conservative we can consider. If she were the only one, then we're REALLY DOOMED. Bobby Jindal, Mitch Daniels and Rick Perry come to mind.

As soon as they can attrack 20,000+ people to attend an uninvited media show, they are back benchers.

...but her speech today left lots to be desired. She rambled a lot and seemed to use code at times, repeating Pass the Ball several times. And what about Alaska Looks to the North or whatever that was.

"She rambled a lot" and she "used code" at times???

Really?

Your critique is ironic. Do a google search through what Big Media had to say about her resignation statement using the keyword "rambling".

Somebody tell her to stop saying “progress (the state)or (an agenda),etc.” - it’s poor word selection and its sounds discordant.

It’s worse than Bush saying nuk-u-lar.

Hey saquin... do us both a favor, write down my name or do whatever you need to do to commit it to memory. Now, don’t ever post to any of my posts again.

I have never, ever, been booted from a forum or even had one of my posts deleted without my specific request. I can no longer say that.... because I strongly support Palin, a conservative, on a conservative forum.

The moderator did his/her job, as I was out of line with my foul language. I screwed up by taking your bait, when what I should have done is simply ignored your insult and moved on.

There are all kinds of folks on the internet, some are great people and then there are those such as yourself.

As for me having a “hangup”, you’re right, I have a few. For example, I don’t play nice with folks that come after me like you did.

If given a chance, I will gladly cast my vote for Palin.

Now saquin, let’s work together to make the magic happen, let’s go back to when you didn’t exist in my world, nor I in yours.

BTW, here's the Google link with the "code" word of the day, "rambling" that you used.

She could hit the Cable Tv circuit and stay as a commentator but not as a politician.

My, my, you are profound. Barefoot and pregnant comes to mind when you speak. She will be whatever she chooses to be, whether you approve or not.

DU????

“America is looking to the north” what a dodo—

i.e.
—energy is in spades on the slopes of AK but Zero says off limits —for sure this is what it means
—maybe just maybe, America will look to north to SP for leadership

the speech was littered with clues—we’ll see

“She is the first politician in my life that I don’t have to read between the lines.”

That’s a great way to put it. Her absolute honesty is like a fresh summer breeze.

Yeah imagine that...a speaker who can utter more than "uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh.." without one...

I think Reagan did atleast 2 terms of governor in California before concentrating full time to run for President.
*******
People wanted Reagan in 68! He had been Governor for only 2 years but handled the chaos (berkeley, etc.)of 1967-68 well.

Timing is everything. Palin can beat BO by declaring war on elitism-which has almost bankrupted the country.

Palin: The past 20 we’ve been governed on 12 trillion in borrowed money.
What the hell is so smart about that?

If I haven’t already complimented you on your post, let me do so now. I listened to her entire announcement several times, and I see it the same way as do you.

Sarah is just exquisite.
