California isn’t in the top ten? I’m a little surprised.

I’m surprised that Michigan isn’t in the top 10 worst state for personal freedom.

California will be on that list shortly. With the budget problems they are having, they will raise taxes on the people and curtail their freedoms as well. California budgets their spending at $1.50 for every $1.00 they bring in, and they wonder why they have a problem.

Depends on which freedoms are being looked at. Comparing Alabama, Georgia and even Ohio to Massachusetts in terms of Second Amendment rights is simply laughable.

Was born in #6, have spent most of my life in # 3, went to graduate school in #2. Illinois truly is the worst in terms of hidden taxes and surcharges, with the gun laws being little different than New York State’s (which are slightly less restrictive than North Korea).

Since it ranks 19th on the list of best states, maybe I won’t be moving to Montana soon. Wonder how well dental floss grows in NH....

The first seven seem to give us a disproportionate number of national politicians. What a surprise.

Only reason Oregon beat Idaho is Oregon is pretty lax on personal use marijuana.

Everyone needs to READ the original article and understand the study’s definition of “freedom”. It is NOT necessarily what Conservatives hold to be those truths.
