Dave's apology accepted, but why let it rest there?
Chicago Tribune ^ | June 17, 2009 | Steve Dahl

[snip]

Palin benefits from putting the idea of defiling her 14-year-old daughter out there -- even though she knows it was a mistake -- so that makes her no better than Letterman, and possibly even a little bit worse.

This is a "humor" column, and the author starts out with this:

Having parted with more than my fair share of jokes that I would like to have back, I have to say that I feel David Letterman's pain.

He then goes on to this:

Without stirring up a hornet's nest of trouble for myself (again), let me recount a few of my own experiences with the risky world of humor.

But that's all prelude to what he really wanted to say, which is what I put above the fold on this post.

"Knocking up" Willow is a crime, even in most parts of the South.

But not in any Planned Parenthood franchise nationwide.

His "apology" was to say he intended to insult the 18-year-old daughter and not the 14-year-old. We just misunderstood.

That's no apology, it's a copout.

David Letterman is a piece of filth.

Ahhhhhhh! And THAT'S what really bothers you isn't it, Mr. Dahl?

The left HATES it when a Righty beats them at their own game.

It’s a humor column? When does it get funny?

It's a simmering caldron of politically charged stew, and Sarah Palin didn't let go of it. She's like a malamute with a caribou chew bone (oops, is she going to go after me now?).

You wish.

Nobody reads your column, you loser.

To be fair, that's because nobody buys your paper.

Loser.

Or as we say on FR...looser.

Maybe he's a humorist, using this column to recount his own jokes gone bad, as a way to set up the slam against Palin. I agree, his remarks about the "kick the dog" joke that caused trouble led me to believe he was a humorist.

I guess I got that one wrong. Maybe I should apologize to all the humorists out there?

At the very bottom of the Late Show with pervert Letterman website, there is a "Feedback" link for commenting on any given program.

The screen that you'll see will look like this below. You apparently don't need to be a registered member of the site to send comments:

From NewsBusters.org, June 9, 2009...

Seven months after Election Day, and the attacks on Sarah Palin keep coming.

On Monday, CBS's David Letterman on the "Late Show" shamelessly went after the Alaska governor and her family during his opening monologue, as well as in his "Top Ten" list.

Top Ten Highlights Of Sarah Palin's Trip To New York

10. Visited New York landmarks she normally only sees from Alaska

9. Laughed at all the crazy-looking foreigners entering the U.N.

8. Made moose jerky on Rachael Ray

7. Keyed Tina Fey's car

6. After a wink and a nod, ended up with a kilo of crack

5. Made coat out of New York City rat pelts

4. Sat in for Kelly Ripa. Regis couldn't tell the difference.

3. Finally met one of those Jewish people Mel Gibson's always talking about

2. Bought makeup from Bloomingdale's to update her "slutty flight attendant" look

1. Especially enjoyed not appearing on Letterman

"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez."

David Letterman sold his soul a long time ago particularly when he started to become very obsequious to the former first lady when the latter was running for a Senate seat & complied with conducting a softball interview. I stopped watching him from around that time because he had turned himself into a shill in a much more noticeable manner.

My sister in law, who is way left of me, met Dahl years ago. Said he was the biggest A hole she’d ever met. Considering she worked for years as a bartender makes me believe she could be a pretty good judge of jerks and their batting order.

I think he should apologize for calling himself a humorist. And then buzz off somewhere.

I know people who have met Steve Dahl at various times during his 25 plus year checkered radio career in Chicago. You can add obnoxious drunk and fat slob who would like to fondle his female fans to the descriptors

Text of my e-mail to Steve Dahl:

subj: Dave's apology

Dear Steve,
Rest assured Gov. Palin will not come after you for comparing her to a malamute. She will never hear about it. In case you haven't noticed, nobody reads your paper.

Best wishes,
(Texas Eagle)

And Littleman can't come up with anything funny, so he resorts to child rape.

Dave, you and your writers are washed up.

Gee, i guess that makes Obama kids fair game since they are out there too. What is Palin suppose to do, pretend she does not have a family and neglect them. What an absolutely moronic comment. But it is Steve Dahl, so not a stretch for him.

“Palin benefits from putting the idea of defiling her 14-year-old daughter out there’

These POS’s just can’t give it up, can they? They need an enemy, a witch, a demon to be exorcised.

What Letterman said is in no way, shape, or form funny. We should not let punks beat on Palin.
