NY POST ^ | 6/11/09 | PAUL THARP

Google is learning that $704,000 in political donations to Obama doesn't buy protection ......four federal probes are looking into how Google does business with investigations into its hiring practices and questions by the FTC about directors who also sit on the board of Apple Inc.........several key Google execs have taken jobs in the Obama admin.....Andrew McLaughlin, was Google's high-powered lobbyist and head of its global public policy. And Schmidt has appeared at Obama's side as a star member of the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology. One probe focuses on a deal between Google and authors over putting books online. Google paid $125M to the Authors Guild and the Assoc of American Publishers -- to set up a so-called Book Rights Registry for settling their 4-year class action struggle.

It’s a scandle....We need Obama to form “study groups”..and appoint an Internet Czar!!

One guess who would be at the top of the list...our friend MANBEARPIG...or is he still wanting to be the “Climate Czar”....

In that case, the FEDS oughta take a look at Mr. Immelt and his G.E. Contributions to OBOZO in kind! All of the Free NBC/PMSNBC Advertising and Coverage, Alternative Energy Brainwashing, etc.!

Looks like Bing is trying to get market share.

This happened under Reno in the old Internet Explore vs Netscape.

I wouldn't expect much to come out of this "probe," especially given reports that Google Inc.’s head of global public policy, Andrew McLaughlin, is leaving the company to become deputy chief technology officer for the Obama administration

Screw Google.

1) Google Checkout just upped my merchant rates by 50% in mid-May.

2) I have a potential customer that last night wanted to send me a payment and they were told online after setting up their account that they had to wait an additional 24 hours. So I have no customer yet. In retail you take the money as soon as it is offered.

3) Google cares about google.

How much of that $704,000 was laundered from foreign sources?

Giving them money, telegraphs you are afraid. Now, like the Mafia guy you gave money to ‘protect’ your business, he wants you to hire his cousin Vinny and some friends of his. Let them know how to run the business, that kind of thing.

Microsoft learned the same lesson of not paying protection money. The problem with Google is that it was ONLY $704,000 paid. Should have easily been tens of millions of dollars.

I suspect that it’s the Clinton playbook ala Microsoft...”What, you won’t give more money to our glorious cause, Comrade? Then these federal agents are going to take a hard look at your books and reveal the truth to the people so you can face our revoultionary justice!”

We have stripped Google off all but one computer. Mine. When I want to search for anything that is not safe (i.e. political, gun related, homeschool related etc.) I go to IXquick. They don’t save ip addresses.

Google is still the best for search.
Last night we did a search for “Miyazaki Levistone” to get a necklace for my daughter. IXquick and Yahoo gave us nothing. Only Google gave us results to work with.

I still have Dogpile as my default search engine. They search all the other engines for me. Since my daughter works for Microsoft in the legal department of the "Bing Team" I am giving it an honest trial, and like it a lot, but I still use the dogpile for the time being.

Good point----wonder how much was given using fake names?

Freeper Calpernia turned us on to stolen ID's being listed as campaign donors.

Yeah, because Microsoft is a non-partisan company.

They give tons of cash to Democrats.
No different than Google.
