It is not intended to prevent crime.
Almost everyone uses the same round in their handgun AND their rifle, for convenience and safety, so that's 120 rounds in just one match. And around here you can shoot just about every Saturday if you're so inclined.
This legislation would mean a quick end to all cowboy action shooting in Cali . . . . also IPSC and the other pistol matches. And never mind actually practicing . . . .
This is blatantly unconstitutional.
Ammo : Guns :: Pens : Freedom of Speech
Imagine a limit on the number of pens one could buy?
Youe assesssment is correct. It is meant to control the people. And as evidenced by the 2008 election, most people that voted wish to be owned and controlled by the government.
That’s the reason why we shoot in NV, not mexifornia.
They can’t control guns so they will try and control ammo. Hillary Clinton talked about doing this same thing years ago.
This bill will most likely die (though with CA who knows?), but it should serve as a clarion call to all gun owners precisely what the anti-gunners are thinking.
Nothing is off the table for them. Not 50 round monthly limits; not total gun confiscation.
Make absolutely no mistake about it.
50 rounds a month? That’s 20 minutes range time at a leisurely pace including reloading.
As if ammo smuggling wouldn’t happen.
It will in fact create criminals out of law abiding citizens. Eventually even the most timid creature will attack when backed far enough into a corner.
Or, it could just as easily me no ammunition is limited.
For years as my son was growing up, he would buy any type of ammunition in Wisconsin that he wanted. I once asked the clerk about selling "handgun" ammo to minors and he simply showed me a rifle that fired the same cartridge.
Answered my question!
But I thought “assault rifles” were the criminals weapon of choice? Are there even enough sane people in California to vote these morons out of office? If not, I think it’s time to start erecting a border fence along the eastern boundary of the state to keep them in.
Bacause they can. Do you REALLY think you live in a free country anymore?
They call you "citizen" but in reality you are now a "subject."
May I see your papers please?
Think it through, think it through, if you can...
America -- a great idea, didn't last.
Meanwhile the Obamunist media ridicules the “paranoid gun nuts” for stockpiling ammo.
With the tax rate to go to a whooping 9.75%, I would think they would love any sales that happen...here they are BROKE, and this is what they worry about.....go bankrupt and the sooner, the better, CA. I will move when I can.
What are you going to do? Shoot the person that won't sell you more than 50 rounds? Maybe post on the Internet some more? Maybe try and pen one more scathing op-ed piece or a fiery letter to your elected Representation? Maybe file a law suit?
Yeah... That'll do the trick....
You aren’t actually paranoid if they really are out to get you.
This will require registration and a system to let ammo vendors know someone has not purchased ammo an hour ago.
Otherwise the state may not find out that someone has purchased 50 rounds at one store, then a single round at another until months have gone by.
