Editors note: President Obamas speech at the Cairo University was part of his five-day trip, which kicked off with a meeting with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The trip was made in part to improve the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world.
A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group called President Obamas historic address to the Muslim world on June 4th in Cairo comprehensive, balanced and forthright and said it may help reverse the deterioration in relations between the United States and Muslim-majority nations.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) hosted a live viewing that morning of the presidents speech for leaders and members of the Muslim community in the Washington, D.C., area. CAIR chapters around the nation held similar viewings.
In a statement following that viewing, CAIR said: President Obamas comprehensive, balanced and forthright address covered almost all the bases in terms of issues of concern to Americans, American Muslims and those in Muslim-majority nations. It may serve as a turning point in what have been deteriorating relations between America and the Muslim world.
CAIR appreciates the presidents acknowledgment of the contributions American Muslims have made and continue to make to our nation and to the protection of civil rights. We applaud the presidents commitment to work with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill their religious obligation of charitable giving.

If CAIR likes it, I’m agin’ it.
If CAIR liked it, there’s something very fishy in Denmark, The Netherlands, London....
If CAIR liked it then you know that they helped buy and pay for Obama!
Of course they liked it. They wrote it.

Just last week, a federal judge in Dallas sentenced five leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development to between 15 and 65 years in prison after they were convicted of providing material support to Hamas.") We have a solemn responsibility to protect our people while we also protect our principles."")June 4, 2009)

Ghassan Elashi -- CAIR Founder--sentenced to 65 yrs for support of terrorism
"... The government presented evidence at trial that, as the U.S. began to scrutinize individuals and entities in the U.S. who were raising funds for terrorist groups in the mid-1990s, the HLF intentionally hid its financial support for Hamas behind the guise of charitable donations. HLF and these five defendants provided approximately $12.4 million in support to Hamas and its goal of creating an Islamic Palestinian state by eliminating the State of Israel through violent jihad..."
Where was the balance? Did he call the Iranian nutjob and other Islamic supremacists ignorant deniers of history?
He doesn’t even like to reveal that they invented the idea of teleprompters...
Ugh, how about list of those 'contributions'. All I'm aware of is huge hole where the Twin Towers once stood.
