A Pittsburgh-area teenager has been suspended from middle school when a random search turned up an eyebrow shaver in her handbag. Officials at Linton Middle School in Penn Hills recommended at a Wednesday disciplinary hearing that 15-year-old be expelled for the rest of this year and 45 days next year.

The teen said she doesn't consider the eyebrow trimmer a weapon. She fears expulsion will hurt her chances of becoming a nurse-anesthetist. She's a Girl Scout and a member of the school's basketball team, choir and leadership team.

The school released a statement saying it has a standard disciplinary policy that addresses all students equally...

Why does it seem that the people who run US public schools, are generally idiots?

And all drugs are treated the same also. Legal and illegal, don’t get caught with either in a school.

These are the morons you entrust your kids to.

They have no business being anywhere near your kids.

Get your kids out of public school. Grandma and Grandpa may need to help, and if so, so be it. But get them away from these morons or you’ll be wondering what happened to them a few years down the road.

Ya know - this just means that 15 year old girls don’t consider their “beauty items” to be weapons. Isnt’ that refreshing?

This is from a mom whose daughter had the misfortune to say to another kid “I’m gonna kill you!” the week after Columbine. Detention - in a Catholic school.

“Why does it seem that the people who run US public schools, are generally idiots?”

Because by and large they are trained by bleeding-heart liberal, so-called “professors” who don’t know their tail from a turnip.

It’s no better in Europe... or many other countries but that doesn’t make me any happier about the state of the States.

The answer is simple: Because they are!

I never even heard of an eyebrow shaver. I thought they plucked eyebrows, not shave them?

They're just covering their tails. Zero tolerance policies are a response to lawsuits. For an administrator it's better to punish everyone and keep your job than let some infraction slide only to have it come back and bite you.

That's really all it is.

Pencils are one of the most lethal weapons in the schools and they are OK.

Ha.

Someone should invent a slip on eraser for a wooden pencil that resembles the handle of a dagger. That would get them going wouldn’t it?

When I was a kid we used to disable the members of the opposing football teams with blackboard erasers.

I was once pummeled with a scientific calculator and a smuggled-in whoopie cushion.

And there was a story floating around about a kid named Jimmy Jacks that was decapitated during PE with a pair of gym shorts and a water balloon.

Yep, for the most part they are. The state college I went to was popular for education majors. With very few exceptions, the top reason I heard for majoring in ed. was that it was an “easy” major. The subjects most frequently cited for being light in coursework, thus desirable, were science and math. They also planned on being able to easily find work, with job security.

You would probably be trusted with an eyebrow shaver in an insane asylum.

30 years removed from the college of engineering. It was the standing joke then and still is prevalent today amongst the engineers. The engineer drop outs headed to the school of education and the school of communication arts (i.e. journalism) And now they teach children and grandchildren math .... no .. sorry .. they propagandize our children with women studies and social behavior acceptance.

In sorrow, I report .. our schools of engineering are watered down as well .... to what used to be acceptable in H.S. years ago.

I'm Ok, Your’e OK is their text book of all knowledge.

My latest book

I'm Ok, buttcha ain't worth spit. (freaked you out didn't I)
