The most remarkable, or certainly the least remarked on, aspect of Barack Obama's first 100 days has been the infectious arrogance of his presidency.
There's no denying that this is liberalism's greatest opportunity for wish fulfillment since at least 1964. But to listen to Democrats, the only check on their ambition is the limits of their imaginations.
"The world has changed," Sen. Charles E. Schumer of New York proclaimed on MSNBC. "The old Reagan philosophy that served them well politically from 1980 to about 2004 and 2006 is over. But the hard right, which still believes ... [in] traditional values kind of arguments and strong foreign policy, all that is over."
Right. "Family values" and a "strong foreign policy" belong next to the "free silver" movement in the lexicon of dead political causes.
No doubt Schumer was employing the kind of simplified shorthand one uses when everyone in the room already agrees with you. He can be forgiven for mistaking an MSNBC studio for such a milieu, but it seemed not to dawn on him that anybody watching might see it differently.

Before he is undone, our country is in ashes.
It will take years to undo it.
The only thing that I can figure out about all this is that Prez Zero and his henchmen have determined that the 'rats have achieved a permanent majority in the U.S..
..the Republicans will never win another American election...ever...they think.
Why else would they be cramming the socialist programs down our throats? Why else would they disregard and denigrate the "other half" of the country made up of people who did not vote for Pres Zero?
What would compel them to make so many people mad, and cause so much chaos other than they think that nothing political or physical will happen to them.
Perhaps the Liberals know the election was stolen and there is a real chance they will be thrown from power. The may feel the pressure to get as much in place quickly before that happens.
My local so-called newspaper had the predictably slobbering “Specter is a Dem!” editorial this morning. In the piece, they blathered on about how Specter no doubt switched parties because of the Republican’s “hard right turn” during the Bush Presidency. Uh, what about the fact that the left has made an unprecedented “hard left turn” in recent years?
“..the Republicans will never win another American election...ever...they think.”
They are correct, once 20 million Illegals become legal and can vote, Republicans will never win another election and the death spiral of our country will be unstoppable.
This sounds exactly like some repubics and now we now where they are getting their liberalism from... Reagan's way will never die unless ALL FREEDOM AND LIBERTY DIES... from my cold dead hands!

Hey Arbooz, where did you get that sticker? I want one of those.
Not me!
Hussein Obama (aided by the left wing media) wants to make sure that no Republican ever wins another election. He wants to silence the only forms of free speech we have: talk radio and the internet. He wants to register then confiscate guns. His election was a coup d’etat, funded and directed by Hussein’s master, George Soros. The only way we are going to get rid of Obama is by force. Either we fight and win a Civil War II or we get used to being slaves of Hussein and his thugs.
However, predictable, Beltway-driven, boring, mild-mannered schlumps like George Will, Fred Barnes and others get the spotlight and big bucks. Go figure.

I too believe that one-party Democrat rule is here to stay. It’s unstoppable and the damage will be irreversible.
In addition to the 20 to 45 million illegals that will be given citizenship (and likely vote Democrat) the Democrats will give “special attention” to next year’s census assuring that they are never again in the minority.
They have no idea how happy we are to be rid of Specter. More RINOs leaving would just getting rid of the chaff.
I agree Leni: I am so sick of Will, Barnes and even Kristol sometimes, who was terrble during the campaign. These guys are Republican Light and much more concerned about their beltway image than anything else. Krauthammer, Goldberg, and now Brit H, are consistently on the right side of reason.
I can’t take any more “fair and balanced”..If I have to see excessively wide eyed Mara L. and her fake pearls one more time! or listen to Lib Juan W. who thinks he is hiding his Leftwing beliefs behind endless, gut wrenching babbling! After all, he cried at Bams’ acceptance speech in Denver.
it’s not just liberal arrogrance but the kind of self indulgent narcissism that would freak out all of NYC just for a friggin photo shoot...
Cunning stunts as they may be, Democrats can count as well as the next guy, and they are not wrong. We are staring down he barrels of a 20-year-long shotgun.
Those who believe differently than the Democrats have to get a new act together and start fighting on the state level. My first goal: get 5 (FIVE) State Legislatures to pass laws requiring presidential candidates to present documentary bona fides as to their eligibility, including citizenship, and to certify those documents before awarding a state's electoral votes to a candidate.
That could happen in enough time for the 2012 election.
