While the organizers of the Washington, D.C. anti-spending Tea Party have given a speaking slot to Alan Keyes, that other failed African-American Republican Senate candidate from Maryland, Michael Steele, has been dissed by the crew behind the Chicago Tea Party. Eric Odom, the events organizer, has posted the email he wrote to the Republican National Chairmans staff after Steele asked to be a speaker.
I very much appreciate the fact that Chairman Steele is now finally starting to reach out to the true grassroots side of the free-market movement in America. Unfortunately, it appears that he has only just decided to reach out after realizing how big the movement has gotten and how much media is now involved.
That said, were still excited to know that Chairman Steele will be in Chicago and we hope, after knowing that hell be in the city, that hell stop by and mingle with the Americans who will be rallying on April 15th. This will also present a fantastic time for Chairman Steele to LISTEN to what we have to say and perhaps gather some thoughts on what the RNC needs to be doing moving forward.
With regards to stage time, we respectfully must inform Chairman Steele that RNC officials are welcome to participate in the rally itself, but we prefer to limit stage time to those who are not elected officials, both in Government as well as political parties. This is an opportunity for Americans to speak, and elected officials to listen, not the other way around.

RNC Chairman Steel Requests Speaker spot at Chicago Tea Party
Earlier this week I was contacted by the scheduler for RNC Chairman Michael Steele. I was informed that Chairman Steele will be in Chicago on April 15th and would be interested in speaking.
This is my response:
ping
Better put some ice on that Michael, that’s gonna leave a mark ...
Beautiful!
I’m amazed that even three dozen conservatives even live in Chicago, where people believe in all the tenets of libearlism and have for generations.
Actually, I would let Steele speak and hold him accountable at the podium.
Chairman Steele. Have a seat. Shut up. Listen.
I was thinking the same thing.
If only three dozen conservatives show up to this thing, though, watch the media descend like a hungry pack of hyenas: to document (objectively, of course) how “far out of the mainstream” the “fringe” Tea Party movement really is, and the overwhelming support for the Dear and Beloved Leader’s policies.
They just won’t show up to the thousand-person rallies in other cities.
Ooooo! Oooooo! Excellent! If you are a RINO you better evolve very quickly into a Conservative or become a fossil!!!
Keyes ping.
These guys up there in the heady atmospherics of national politics like to be heard, not necessarily just be seen.
Yeah, I've got a picture of him mingling in the sweaty crowd in his shirt sleeves, eating a corn dog on a stick.

Many of us are planning on booing them off the stage. And that may actually be the best example we could make of them. Boo them off the stage and eventually out of office. They've had their time to speak, they've had their time match actions to words, they have ready access to the MSM.
This protest is for We the People to demand our grievances be heard.
If you want to almost certainly guarantee Steele's appearance, tell him that there will be ample opportunities to trash Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives.
Steele must resign.
At our 3/7 Lafayette, LA event, one congresscritter's name came up - Boustany, RINO, LA - and he was roundly booed. He voted wrong on Porkulus One, IIRC. Senator Vitter sent a factotum and he was allowed to speak. Vitter's been a rock for us conservatives.
I just spent a month in Chicago helping Rosanna Pulido. Just so everyone knows, there are many fine conservative folks in the Windy City. But they sure don’t get any help from the likes of Michael Steele or his party. Nada.
“Actually, I would let Steele speak and hold him accountable at the podium.”
Puts the time and the focus on Steele, and takes away from multiples of concerned Americans attending the rally that we really need to hear from.
Steele is a guaranteed waste of time. No such guarantee by letting Conservative Americans speak their minds.
