Yes, but personally, I think that Francisco d’Anconia looked at visions much larger than himself. I’ve never really thought that Trump did that. In the spirit of truthfulness, I freely admit my bias here. I’m not a “The Donald” groupie.

indeed and I have had many arguments with them about it.

MI family moved down here saying how MI was horrible, no jobs, etc

I asked who they voted for and of course the Dem party is was.
I asked did you learn that they will do what they did to your state to the country.
No was the answer and yes they will still vote for these Muppet’s.

Course I expect nothing but that form them seeing as they are all layabouts, drunks and totally not into keeping their yard of house tidy

People who live in New Jersey and work in New York pay income taxes in BOTH states -- with the state of employment serving as the "primary" recipient of income tax revenue.

I'll give a very simple example . . .

Suppose a New Jersey resident works in New York and earns $100,000. If their New York income tax rate is 5%, they owe $5,000 in taxes to New York (I've eliminated all deductions/exemptions for the sake of simplicity). If their New Jersey income tax rate is 3.5%, then they file a return in New Jersey indicating a New Jersey tax liability of $3,500 . . . but pay no income taxes in New Jersey because they get a credit for the $5,000 paid to the other jurisdiction.

The same would work in reverse for someone living in New York and working in New Jersey. They would owe $3,500 to New Jersey and file a tax return in New York indicating a New York tax liability of $5,000 . . . which means they get a credit for the $3,500 paid to New Jersey and owe the difference ($1,500) to New York.

This idea of "total income by family" in different states is a whole different matter, and I'm not sure how that works either under current New York tax law or under Patterson's proposal.

Trump is a liberal Obama supporter who often mocks Republicans. He ought to be a man of his word and stay in NY and gladly pay the taxes!

Just another limousine liberal hypocrite.

you and other conservatives are welcome but sadly it is liberals , homo's moving down here. When I took my bike license we had a guy who had just moved and when the instructor told him that helmets is not required by law he flipped and started to tell us all that he is in a group which is trying to get the helmet law later I asked him about why he would move to here and try to change it and his reply was "well we have to make these laws to help people" They are the idiots who need to stay the hell out of here and stay up in liberal utopia good luck on your move and we welcome you voting

Rush has been threatening to totally get out of NYC as well — I hope he does!

In defense of Trump on that count, I believe he publicly supported McCain in 2008.

This is why, after the split and the reformation of a Constitutional Republic,

we’ll have to have strict ideological immigration tests. It will be based on worldview. Basically, do you believe the individual should decide for himself, or have “someone smarter” do it for him.

Simple enough. If you answer the latter, you’re not gettin’ in.

Were you being sarcastic? I thought that those were the worst firings ever.

Tionne didn’t do anything wrong. She simply volunteered to face the boardroom. Firing somone for courage tells me a lot about Trump’s character and explains why he always seems to leave investors holding the bag, when his companies file for bankruptcy, and why he NEVER, EVER takes the blame for anything. Not a big personal responsibility guy.

As for Khloe Kardashian, Trump is a hypocrite for firing her for a past DUI, while apparently having no problem with Dennis Rodman being there, while on probation for spousal abuse.

Besides that, how could Clint Black not be fired? He ignored all the objections of his team, wouldn’t let them have any input or do anything, and singlehandedly produced perhaps the worst project ever on the show.

I thought the “All” execs were idiots, too. They specifically asked for a “viral” video, but seemed shocked that the videos were “out there”. Did they thnk some dull, “All leaves clothes 9% whiter and brighter than the other leading brand” ad would go viral?

They were almost a bad as the exec from Zappos, who, stone-faced, in a monotone voice, explained how they like to think of themselves as a fun, out of the box, kind of company, and seemed totally uncomfortable with any ideas that were “fun” or “out of the box”.

Re: “Chicago is different.”

Yes, Chicago is smaller and overall, cleaner than NYC. But.......and I say this not as a Chicago hater as it is my hometown — I would most definitely stay OUT of Cook County!

Nothing like a governor insulting one of the productive taxpaying citizens. Wonder what would have happened had he stated he was glad a NY’er on the dole was leaving and he wished he would have left sooner. No, that would never happen.

If you insult good people and laud those who can’t take care of themselves, guess who will populate your state?

All you say is true....however I love how his mind works...he is right ...NEVER volunteer to be fired...or you will get your wish.

He has NEVER had a sip of liquor...he HATES it and anyone who does drink...all those others will get their chance to be fired....I just was stunned at his thought process.

Yes but people who live in NJ and work in PA don’t and vice-versa. There some states with reciprocal agreements on state income tax. NY is not one of them.

Earlier you said:
“Every state in the U.S. with an income tax probably does this.”

Many in the mid-west do not. MD, VA and PA are notable exceptions on the east coast as well.

Well if that’s so I stand corrected, but I seem to recall him being far less than inclined to Republican views. However an Internet search seems to indicate he calls himself a Republican, however liberal that may be.

The idiocy runs in the entire NY governing body.

Actually heard Mayor Bloomers insist there was little or not fraud in Medicaid.

When I had just begun my political transformation from liberal to conservative, I met a guy in my community who used to walk his dog the same time I did. He told me that he was from Michigan, and he wouldn’t set foot in the state (where his family lived) for any reason - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, weddings, baptisms, funerals, ....... Nothing would inspire him to go back.

You are right, he and his family did originally support Hilldog in the primaries but switched to McCain in the general. I remember Trump saying something on the lines he thought Obama would be a disaster.
