Like watching a car wreck play out in slow motion, our Marxist-in-Chief, Barak Obama, has clearly set his sights on Detroit. If allowed to spool out it will bring GM to the same catastrophic conclusion. Extrapolating a straight line from Obamas past to GMs future allows us to ignore the clever media assisted misdirection and slight of hand. Obamas goal is to transfer the means of production to its rightful owners, the proletariat of the UAW.
The talk of bankruptcy is just that, talk. Pelosi has already said that it is not an option. What will happen is that GM will be forced to the brink and then the administration will broker some kind of deal that will transfer controlling interest in the company to the UAW in exchange for the pension fund obligations. You heard it here first.
The UAW deserves to own it. Then we can all buy something else with a clear conscience and let them starve in Detroit.
“Then we can all buy something else with a clear conscience and let them starve in Detroit.”
I’m sure there are some very good and decent people in Detroit and Michigan in general. OTOH, they choose to live in a liberal Hell - let them burn in it!
They chose to vote for liberal Democrats and give the UAW unchecked power and now they are paying for it.
All brought to you buy Mr. Goodwrench Obama and his new GM company, Government Motors.
Would not the UAW leadership be intelligent enough to understand their own members would turn on them if they tried to get UAW members to do the things necessary to make GM profitable?
I’m guessing just like Jesse Jackson turned down his chance to be mayor of Washington D.C. some years back, so would the UAW turn down the chance to run GM.
In each case it would mean someone having to inform their useful idoits of reality. Neither wanted or wants to do that.
You left out the part about Congress passing a law that will make it illegal, in the US, to drive any car that does not have certain characteristics.
The only cars with those characteristics will be those made by GM.
Do you really think that logic and precedent have anything to do with Obama's ideological agenda? Besides, when did the wants and needs of the workers ever earn any consideration in a communist organization?
Yes, every interaction I have had with unions had the undertones that they hate, and want to destroy the company. If UAW has nowhere to focus the hate, what will happen to them?
I don’t think that the unions hate the company, they hate the management. Union bosses think that they are omnipotent, and that management should bow to their superior authority, if not knowledge.
Unions are all about power and money.
“GM will be forced to the brink and then the administration will broker some kind of deal that will transfer controlling interest in the company to the UAW in exchange for the pension fund obligations. You heard it here first.”
I drive a Yukon and really like it. If what you describe happens it will become I drove a Yukon. To Hades with the UAW.
By the time zero gets done changing things the whole country is going to look like detroit.
I can’t imagine the UAW running anything other than a scam. They certainly don’t know how to increase productivity.
If you have a problem with your GM car, call 1-800-OMAMA-CAR.
Detroit, the American Port-au-Prince.
UAW won’t do this unless they could hire non-union workers or illegals.
“Do you really think that logic and precedent have anything to do with Obama’s ideological agenda?”
Yes, I do. It is just that 0bama’s objectives are twisted, probably anti-american and even evil. Of course, this makes him look illogical to us.
“If UAW has nowhere to focus the hate, what will happen to them?”
I see your point. Imagine, if they themselves were suddenly the ‘evil boss’, the people upon whose shoulders responsibility falls, would they hate themselves? UAW ownership of GM could turn the more intelligent members into staunch conservative anti-union management types. It could drive some of the less capable or emotionally unstable ‘up the wall’!
