Based on the likelihood of “who” he drafts for his security force, I’m expecting gaudy, metallic colors and with uniform caps turned backward.

However, I have seen it and I do recommend it. Parts of it was filmed in the Kansas-Missouri border area and while it's not much on history, it is well acted. My favorite line occurs during the Lawrence raid when Jake Rodel, the Toby McGuire lead, is confronted by his nemesis who tells his men to clear all the Yankees out of the room. Rodel says that they'll take care of them when they've finished their meal. Mackeson says, "Why you little Dutch son of a bitch. You do what I tell you or I'll kill you." To which Rodel pulls a really big pistol and pointing it a few inches from Pitt's face says, "And when do you figure to do this mean thing to me Mackeson? Is this very moment convenient for you? It is for me."
By all means rent it. It's a good evening's entertainment.
