A flagrant reversal of American values
The Washington Post ^ | February 26, 2009 | Eboo Patel

Geert Wilders on Capitol Hill There is a foreign element threatening America. He believes the Qur'an promotes violence. He creates videos of Muslims committing terrorist acts and hopes mainstream media plays them. He is committed to the clash of civilizations -- Islam vs. the West. Britain, our primary ally, denied him entry, claiming he was a threat to public order. Now he wants to come here. This foreign element does not speak Arabic. He does not pray five times a day. He does not have a beard. He is not even a Muslim. He is Geert Wilders, a Member of Parliament from a right-wing party in the Netherlands. Why he's so interested in amplifying Osama bin Laden's message that Islam promotes violence and division I don't know. And why he's being invited to screen his offensive film Fitna in the ornate LBJ room in the U.S. Capitol confuses me too. My friend Keith Ellison, an African-American Congressman from Minnesota and a Muslim, compared it to screening the horribly racist film The Birth of the Nation in the White House.

There is nothing so dangerous as a man who speaks the truth in a time of government started crisis.

Dear Eboo Patel: The call to violence against infidels is well documented in the Koran. Study the Constitution some time.

Don’t you just love liberals who reach for the “values” argument to silence those they dislike after years of telling us that our “values” should be neutral and inoffensive to other cultures and points of view?

My friend Keith Ellison, an African-American Congressman from Minnesota and a Muslim,

What Muslims need is their own TV station to show their religion is one of family values and respect for women.

compared it to screening the horribly racist film The Birth of the Nation in the White House.

Democrats actually did that.

Well gee, why would anyone warn the last best hope for mankind of the dangers we face?

Take a look at conditions in Europe. That is what the 0bama administration is determined to bring to our shores.

But I thought Muslims had their own TV station, called “Bridges” and intended to show us Kaffirs how Islam is not inherently violent.

It was founded by that Muslim who beheaded his wife and....and....and...

(Never mind.)

The Koran does promote violence.

It also reads like Allah is some drunken loser who lives in a trailer park or slum and abuses his kid Mohammad and yells a lot because he's impotent. Allah the impotent drunk seems to boast about his power on every other page.

Mohammad the illiterate child raper paid Jews to transcribe his drug-induced visions. They must have laughed their asses off when writing the first written copies of the Koran.

This is ironic, coming from the Washington Post, which has used "the public's right to know" argument to publish top-secret information for years, and has exploited its formerly lofty platform as a launching pad for a variety of repulsive causes.

Apparently "free speech" carries some sort of Orwellian doublespeak implication, as in "You're free to say anything I agree with."

Well, a full Alpha strike package comes to mind, followed by an armored assault, with flanks protected by CBUs and incendiary munitions. . . . .

Geert Wilders, a great man, and unfortunately a voice in a wilderness filled with blind westerners(european & american), way too stupid, to get his message.

This is akin to arguing that if you don’t like Nazis, you don’t like Germans. This is simply blurring the fact that there are real substantive issues between the West and the culture of Islamics.

I’m convinced that some of these U.S. critics of everything American are passive sociopaths. They loathe American society, and thereafter adapt the views of America’s adversaries. It’s happened historically with fascism and communism.

Can we please have a substantive discussion of the difference between our values and Islamic values, and stop this “We’re pickin’ on Muslims” nonsense?

Yes we COULD have a substantive discussion. The problem is, it would reveal that there ARE no Islamic values compatible with ours in the West, and we can’t have that.
