Before an audience of conservatives on Thursday, former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., took aim at the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, and former President Bush for supporting the government's purchase last October of $700 billion in bad mortgages and debt held by struggling U.S. financial institutions. He even hinted that McCain, R-Ariz., might have won the White House last year had he staked out a position in opposition to the bailout.
Congressional Republicans, last fall, offered a better, less expensive plan to rescue Wall Street and fix the economy, Huckabee said. But the Bush White House and Sen. McCain turned their backs on them.

Huckabee rips McCain? Nothing could get Huckabee to say a word edgewise about McCain last year when they were supposedly battling tooth and nail for the nomination. Huck is a little late to the party.

It is my opinion that in good part because of you Shuckabee that we wound up with McLame as our “candidate” and ultimely with FUBO as POTUS

Huckabee Schmuckabee, does anyone care what comes out of his piehole?

mccain wasn’t for any bailout before the nomination. He used to have a pretty good record on cutting spending but he threw it all away with one vote.

if mccain didn’t win we’d be better off if Huckabee or Romney won? They all sucked.

Fred got in WAY to late and his heart wasn’t in it. IMO we as conservatives need to quit jeking around with the RINOs and vote for a TRUE conservative ... Duncan Hunter ?

He’s right on McCain. McCain may mot have won the election anyway, but voting for the bailout, and the stupid histrionics around suspending his campaign sealed it for Obama.

You must remember that Hucksterbee's priorities at the time were:
- Getting Mitt Romney out of the race.
- Securing the VP slot under McCain.
Thus, the need to be the Judas goat. Now, if he would either (a)run for and win a senate seat in Arkansas or (b)just quietly go away and shut up, I could find it in my heart to forgive him.
