Dutch MP Wilders refused entry to the UK

Dutch Right-wing politician and controversial anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders has been refused entry to the United Kingdom despite being invited to visit by a member of the House of Lords, the British parliament’s upper chamber.

Mr Wilders, who was due to go to London this Thursday, received a letter today, 10 February, from the British ambassador to the Netherlands telling him that he was not welcome, reportedly because his visit would constitute a threat to public order.

Mr Wilders responded to the decision in fighting mood, telling Dutch media that he still intended to travel to London:“I’ll see what happens at the border. Let them put me in handcuffs.”

Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen’s response was also firm. He contacted his UK counterpart, David Miliband, by telephone and voiced his dissatisfaction that a member of the Dutch parliament - Geert Wilders is in fact also the leader of a political grouping, the Freedom Party - has been prohibited from entering a fellow European Union member state.

Invited Geert Wilders, perhaps best known outside the Netherlands for having made the video Fitna, in which the religion Islam and its holy book the Qu’ran are Islam attacked as providing a basis for terrorist attacks and for the undermining of western democracy and values, had been invited to London for a showing of this film to members of the British parliament.

The invitation to do so was extended to the controversial Dutch politician by a member of the unelected House of Lords.

Regrettable Mr Verhagen commented regarding the showing of Fitna in the British parliament that this was a matter for the House of Lords to decide on, but added: “the fact that a Dutch parliamentarian is refused entry to another EU country is highly regrettable.”

Geert Wilders was initially to have shown his video to the British parliament in January, but those plans were cancelled following fierce protests from the UK’s Muslim community.

Even the lefty source for this story seems to think this is a bad idea.

The UK has simply surrendered to Islamic supremacy.

he is ‘controversial’ but the fatwas and death threats against him and now the trial against freedom of speech... those are not controversial at all.

UK is on very thin ground here. Basic EU law is for "freedom of movement of persons across national boundaries."

Attempts in the past to deny admittance to controversial political figures (like "Danny the Red" in France) have not succeeded.

Calling Wilders "right-wing" is not correct, either. At most, he's a classic "liberal."

Unbelievable!!!! UK is packed full of Islamists who scream for the destruction of western civilization. They are given all the freedoms of speech and religion while all who question are trashed and threatened and denied basic human rights. Just unbelievable!!!!!!

Former President Carter who blames the Jews for all that is wrong in the world was allowed into the UK. Why not Wilders?

UK Denies Entry to MP Wilders; Dutch Government Protesting

THE HAGUE, 11/02/09 - The United Kingdom has denied MP Geert Wilders entry to the country. Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen phoned his UK counterpart David Miliband yesterday to express his dissatisfaction.

Wilders, admired and loathed for his Islam criticisms, was due to visit London on Thursday at the invitation of a British Senate member. But he received a letter yesterday from the British ambassador to the Netherlands telling him he was not welcome. Reportedly his visit would constitute a threat to public order.

Verhagen’s ministry stated that the Netherlands “utterly regrets the British government’s decision” to deny Wilders access to the UK. The MP had been invited by a British Upper House member in connection with his 15-minute anti-Islam film Fitna. Wilders was previously told he would not be allowed to show the film in parliament. Now his physical presence has also been rejected.

Whether the MP should or should not be allowed to show Fitna to members of the British parliament “is a decision of the House of Lords”, stated Verhagen. “But a member of the Dutch parliament being prohibited from entering a fellow European Union nation is very regrettable”, said Verhagen, who has “voiced his dissatisfaction” in a phone call to his UK counterpart David Miliband.

Wilders told reporters he would not be discouraged by the “scandalous” decision of a “bunch of cowards”. He added he may still travel to London. “I am serious considering boarding the plane. Than I will just see what happens at the border,” stated the leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV), currently the third biggest party in the polls.

Verhagen said he first contacted the ambassador after finding out about the unusual step. He “urged” the UK via the ambassador “to reconsider the decision” to refuse Wilders. But “as the decision is a matter of the British Home Secretary, Justice Minister Hirsch Ballin is to discuss (the matter) further with his British counterpart.

“The United Kingdom is sacrificing freedom of speech. One might expect this in Saudi Arabia but not in the UK,” said Wilders. He added his film would be shown “in the Italian parliament next week” and “in the United States in a couple of weeks”. Wilders earlier showed Fitna in Israel.

An appeal court in Amsterdam ruled in January that Wilders must be prosecuted for “incitement to hatred and discrimination” and “insult of Islamic worshippers” for statements he made on Islam in the media and in Fitna. The Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM) had established in 2008 that none of Wilders’ statements were illegal. But the OM must bring a case against the MP anyway.

Wilders stated among other things: “I have had enough of Islam in the Netherlands: no new Muslim immigrants anymore. I have had enough of the worship of Allah and Mohammed in the Netherlands: no more new mosques. I have had enough of the Koran in the Netherlands: Ban that Fascist book.”

The appeal court considered that “hate is created” among other reasons due to Wilders’ “method of presentation which is characterised by biased, strongly generalizing phrasings with a radical meaning, ongoing reiteration and an increasing intensity.” The court apparently did not take into account that Wilders has repeatedly stressed that he is targeting Islam, not Muslims.

England has thrown its doors open to any Islamo-facist who wants to enter and destroy the country from within but cannot tolerate a short visit from a European official who would warn England of its suicidal immigration policy.

That's mental illness and death-wish rolled into one.

The intimidation of the House of Lords

I have been travelling during the past few days and so have built up a bit of a backlog of events upon which I have not yet commented. One of these is the apparently gross abuse of Parliament by Lord Ahmed of Rotherham, which remarkably has not been covered at all in the mainstream British media. Another member of the House of Lords invited the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who is currently facing prosecution in the Netherlands for his outspoken analysis of the Islamist war on civilisation, to screen his controversial film ‘Fitna’ in the Lords on January 29 and discuss his views.

If he was a radical Wahabbist mullah from Saudi, they would have rolled out the red carpet and heralded him with trumpets.

I'd glibly point out Great Britain is on the broad highway to imminent self-destruction but after seeing the events of today in Washington, I'll humbly hold my peace and not throw stones.
