Specter, Collins & Snow: Patriots???
http://www.GOPenema.com ^

Posted on 02/09/2009 10:00:08 AM PST by publius321

The headlines Reads:

“Obama called Ms. Collins and Mr. Specter, as well as Senator Olympia J. Snowe of Maine, another Republican expected to support the deal, to acknowledge they were acting against pressure from their party and, one official said, to thank them for their patriotism in helping advance the bill at a critical time.” By Noel Sheppard February 7, 2009

Patriots??? They need to be put on notice - if they vote for this stimulus package, they will be appropriately regarded as traitors. The notion that government can get us out of a recession by taking and spending more of our money is nothing more than left winged arrogance.

As our country is coming apart at the seams, we can ill afford to play this game of tolerating politicians who bring dishonor to our party. At great cost we have tolerated their tricks under the misguided belief that we need them. The simple truth is that they do us more harm than good.

We now find ourselves in the minority of both House and Senate because we have placated people like Arlen Specter, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe at the enormous price of driving away our base. We can no longer operate under the false notion that being a “big tent” party means we have to allow these imposters to sell out our principles and bring embarrassment to the Republican name.

The coming Republican revolution will make 1994 pale in comparison. In that revolution, there is no room for those who think they can receive our support while acting like the Democrats. We need to have faith in the rectitude of our conservative platform. We must take a stand for it knowing that to save these seats by compromising our values causes us to lose many more than we may retain. It is a net loss - as we have clearly seen.

Conservativism has not been rejected as the left has speciously claimed. The verdict of many frustrated voters has been somewhat of a parallel to a letter to Laodicea in Revelation 3:15-16 - reprimanding the community: 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. That is EXACTLY what we need to do to those who call themselves Republicans but thumb their noses at the principles we hold dear. Spew them out NOW. It is long overdue. If they want to behave as Democrats – they need to run as Democrats. This is not a board game played by two participants with a red piece and a blue piece. Colors are just colors. WE have a platform and ideology – and it is about time that we realize that becoming Democrats in order to defeat Democrats is a loss even if we “win” a few extra seats. People will not be tricked into embracing the truth. If our beliefs do not win on their own merit – than we can never win.

Join the movement to purge the GOP. Go to the petition linked at http://www.GOPenema.com

Sign it, circulate it to your sphere of influence and fax it to your nearest RINO putting them on notice that we WILL find conservatives to “primary them out of office”. Spector, Collins and Snowe are of no use to our party. We will spew these Mavericks, not out of our mouths but out of our bowels. They WILL be replaced.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say they’re unpatriotic. Misguided, self-serving and easily swayed by the lure of “reaching across the aisle,” yes. But unpatriotic, no.

When this ‘thing’ gets passed, we will be able to see just how much ‘Patriotism’ costs us all, as in the pork spent in Maine and Pennsylvania.

Its not that these three RINO’s are not political prostitutes, we all know they are.

We just don’t know how much they charge for their respective services....

I have little doubt Obama considers Bill Ayers a patriot as well.

This kind of talk gets us the kook label. It’s possible they all would like to keep their jobs, and that hasn’t been too common for GOP types in their neck of the woods.

“...to thank them for their patriotism...”

doesn’t this mean that those not doing the same are un-patriotic?

my daughter thanks you for your ‘patriotism’ from her low paying job.
she realizes that the economy goes up and down, and that this is a down time, but she also knows that all this ‘stimulating borrowing’ comes at a price, a price that she must pay.
she must pay the price not only in higher taxes, but in lost opportunities as buisinesses and ‘rich people’ take money that they would have used for many things and poay higher taxes, just to pay the interest on this debt.
She realizes that this huge debt - largest debt incursin in history - will fall upon her shoulders, and she wonders how she can cope with it since this debt will never be repaid.
Given the pattern of DC politicians, this debt will never be repaid, but the interest payments will forever dampen the economy for her and those who will come after, like a ball and chain.

just so the democrats won’t get blamed for today’s economy.

I am one of the biggest “R” posters around here but when it comes to these three — they need defeated. If it was up to me, they would strip them of Committee assignments for being stupid if nothing else by trying to seel this pork-laden bill as a compromise along with telling us they read it all — no way.

There is nothing patriotic about spending my tax dollars on things like ACORN who committed all the voter fraud or bike paths or items that should be in regular appropriation bills. I looked up the stimulus for OK and am furious they want some of these bike paths and other items. It is a huge rip-off of the American taxpayer and that means there is NOTHING patriotic about anyone voting for this bill.

Somebody - not me - likens this stimulus to an attempt to raise the level of water in a swimming pool by bailing water from the deep end to the shallow end.

True enough, but these guys are THAT stupid. OK, well some of them are.

But the key thing here is that not ALL the water being bailed out of the deep end is going back in at the shallow end. It’s skimmed and spilled.

Acorn, unions, and dozens of other clients of the Obama State are lining up for their piece of the promised taxpayer funded “pie”, and here it comes.

Watch out.

Some political things ought to be criminalized, and one of these things is paying off political debts at the public trough.

Seems like yesterday - all those who disagreed with Bush "don't dare question my patriotism" (when nobody actually did). Now the same voices openly question the patriotism of those disagreeing with Obama. Hope and change, indeed.

It depends on your definition of the word patriot. If you mean solely a person who loves his country, I suppose they could be considered patriots. But if you mean a person who sets asides his own selfish interests to defend and protect his country from destruction, then I am not so sure these “useful idiots” are patriots. Follow the money. How much money are each of these RINOs getting to buy votes in their states?
