Obama hauls in record $750 million for campaign

President-elect Barack Obama brought in nearly $750 million for his presidential campaign, a record amount that exceeds what all of the candidates combined collected in private donations in the previous race for the White House, according to a report filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission.

Underscoring the success of his fund-raising, Obama reported that he had nearly $30 million in the bank as of Nov. 24, despite spending furiously at the end of his campaign.

It doesn't matter. The money doesn't matter. The media is what matters. What was the "in kind" contribution of DNC brownshirts digging up dirt illegally from government offices on Joe the Plumber? Why should Americans be required to spend another $300million in contributions to offset the $250million illegally raised by a Democrat candidate overseas?

No. We turn this around and spend the next four years railing against EVERY socialist in any election anywhere in the world. Give them money. Tell them "the world can't wait".

A few months ago, on Greta’s program, I recall that Mary Matalin stated that Gov. Palin held around 30 fundraisers during the campaign and raised $317 million in 7 weeks for the RNC. So, I would say that the good Governor has the ability and prowess to match Obama toe-to-toe when it comes to fund-raising.

The way I see it: The grassroots should decide NOW who we support, and send as much money as we can afford, starting right now.

A candidate can spend as much of HIS OWN money on his campaign, right?

So, send a check to Sarah Palin—payable to SARAH PALIN.

And f#@& the law! Soetoro already did.

It was public knowledge, spread all over, that his campaign turned off the credit card checks so that illegal contributions and fake contributions wouldn’t be noticed.

And the Justice Department said NOTHING about that.

Massive voter fraud, massive campaign contribution fraud, massive foreign contributions, and nothing said.

President Barack Obama brought in nearly $750 million for his presidential campaign, spent more than $136 million

Senator John McCain, who was limited to the $84 million allotted to him from the Treasury under public financing, spent $26.5 million during the same time.

And they want to investigate John McCain.

What's wrong with this picture?

How much of that $750 M was actually illegal coming from overseas all just coincidentally under the $200 threshold that would have triggered an investigation (if I understand this correctly).

This was a Soros funded campaign with the propagandist MTV, American Idol,and Hollyweird telling the messiah worshipers how to vote. Joseph Goebbels would be so happy seeing his traditions upheld by the DIM party.

I didn’t read far enough:

~~~
“Obama officials said
***their final tally of individual contributors surpassed 3.95 million,***
including 547,000 new contributors in the period covered by their latest finance report.
It is unclear what Obama plans to do with the leftover money.
In 2004, when Kerry reported that he had more than $14 million remaining in his account for the primaries, some Democratic officials reacted in anger and disbelief that he had not spent all of his resources. Kerry officials said they had reserved some money to pay for a recount or legal challenges.
That type of second-guessing is less likely this time because Obama won.
He has several options for his remaining cash, Gross said, like transferring it to the Democratic National Committee or another party committee, or rolling it over to his 2012 re-election campaign.
What is not an option for Obama is to help Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton with paying off the debt from her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
According to reports filed last month, Clinton is still struggling to retire about $7.5 million, and she faces fund-raising constraints should Congress approve her as secretary of state in the Obama administration. Gross said the most the Obama campaign could transfer to her was $2,000.”
~~~~

*********Question: can he use these funds for legal fees ?

Oh, yeah, McCain/Feingold did such a BRILLIANT job of “taking the money out of politics”!!!!!!!!!

Oh, sure, and the FEC “knows” that the Obamanation did not buy this election with vast slush funds from offshore and illicit sources......

I read that Pres. Bush and the Obamanation had right about the same % of “small donors” (it’s a total myth that Obama was fueled by predominantly small donors under $100, except maybe for all the illegal ones) and that 75% of Obama’s funds came in very sizable donations....... not to mention who knows how many “small donations” were simply sent en masse from disposable credit card #s etc. since the Obamanation website disabled basic website/donor security verification.

This is all such a total crock. John McVain participated actively in the rise of the Obamanation and he can be “Proud” of it indeed.

Sarah is a bit of a puzzlement to me. Don't get me wrong, I think she is wonderful and a true Republican conservative. The media crucified her and she kept giving them material. I was furious when she fell for the prank phone call a few days before the election. BUT she has a huge following and they are completely devoted to her. I just don't know how that would play out. Is she too damaged? I know many Republicans that liked her but thought she was just too silly acting. I think if she could learn to not act so cutesy, work on the accent, take away all of the things that they used against her, she might be a formidable candidate. Oh and don't go on *gotchas* like Katie Couric, blow them off.

Let me retract that, I was misremembering an early stat on his overseas fundraising activities.

Clearly he was receiving illegal foreign contributions. The Palestinians gave to him and I don’t recall him giving the money back.

Also he “sold” merchandise on his website. While they would not ship such merchandise out of the country, there was no such prohibition on people “buying” the $5 digital download of his promotional album (which included tracks by non-US citizens, which is in and of itself a campaign contribution).
