“It’s just a good solid FReep”: Wk 159, Olney, MD 01-24-09: Op. Infinite FReep – Pic Heavy
Jan. 30,2009

Posted on 01/30/2009 6:20:11 AM PST by trooprally

Since I don’t watch FOX, or really any “news” channels since the election, the Military channels receive by attention. Military Channels are a lot better than listening to than the dribble about Obambi and his first coming. So I plagiarized the tank saying.

This was a good week in Olney. We had 9 Legionnaires, lurkers and FReepers. They were Legionnaire Glenn (USMC - WWII), Legionnaire Dave (Army - WWII) and his friend, Edith, Lurkers Bill and Mike, and FReepers Cindy_True_Supporter, GunsAreOK, iMacMan and myself.

All pics are by iMacMan.

Since iMacMan got to Olney early this week he got us gathering and setting up.

BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill putting together the white banner. He’d already set up the long blue banner. BELOW RIGHT: And Lurker Bill walking the white banner (back ground) to its position, while Legionnaire Glenn is welcomed aboard by me.

BELOW LEFT: Yours truly putting blue banner together. Not sure who I was talking to. BELOW RIGHT: Finally putting banner up over the rebar supports. We raise the flags first (wind was really blowing them once again this morning), then the banners. After wards we lower the flags after all the banners are down.

We’ve been at this for so long, we have permanent holes in the ground that we just slide the rebar in each week. You all are lucky, it was too windy for the red banner so no action-still shots of that.

BELOW LEFT: Welcoming aboard Legionnaire Dave and friend, Edith. BELOW RIGHT: Cindy_True_Supporter and Mike, a friend of Cindy’s son, who wanted to do something this weekend, are setting up the small flags. Mike was also at Walter Reed last night.

BELOW LEFT: A walker crossing over to our corner, then continuing past us without commenting. Not sure why iMacMan took this pic. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill getting some warmer gloves on. The breeze in below freezing temps caught us by surprise today.

BELOW LEFT: Cindy_True_Supporter BELOW RIGHT: GunsAreOK flanked by Mike and Cindy_True_Supporter.

BELOW LEFT: This Marine stopped by and asked what we were up to. We obliged and also pointed out the “Quackers”. A quick expletive was forth coming with the wish that he had some eggs. Upon advising him of our FReeping rules, he said that he’s not part of our group. When told about Glenn, our Iwo Jima Marine Vet, he quickly went over and gave Glenn a big THANK YOU bear hug. This shot is of him returning from our left flank where Glenn was. BELOW RIGHT: Another pic of Lurker Bill but I wanted to point out the clouds. We started to get flurries around 11:15, which had the moonbats retreating early.

Speaking of the moonbats, who can forget this great Doctor Raoul pic (BELOW) from Olney Week 5? For a late January Saturday, it sure looks warmer compared to this week.

Well, as we all know, it is tooooooo late for the anti-troop, anti-victory moonbats.

BELOW: Especially this one. We discussed calling 911 in case he needed help, but realized that the lesson of 9/11 was lost to his thinking.

BELOW: Actually, they are all still under that “brown fog”.

BELOW: While we raise our flags before setting up our banners, the moonbats set out their chairs first and then bring over the banners.

iMacMan’s great pics of passing cars reveled their enthusiasm for our Troop Support Rally. It’s just below freezing, and a car going 30MPH with its window down creates a really cold wind chill. But iMacMan caught a lot of cars today doing just that - waving out an open window.

The first pair of pictures shows a truck that has been seen before. We always seem to get a big wave from him. It’s easy to see why.

And then there were those who wanted to stay a little warmer.

WARNING TO FREEPERS ATTENDING OLNEY

And a new one has been placed just south of Brookeville, between Brookeville and the Longwood Community Center.

REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.

They said that they were installing the Gatsos in school zones, but it appears they’re putting them everywhere, now.

Good work, all, as usual. I love the Seabees!

The Seabee Song

We're the Seabees of the Navy
We can build and we can fight
We'll pave the way to victory
And guard it day and night
And we promise that we remember
The "Seventh of December"

We're the Seabees of the Navy
Bees of the Seven Seas

The Navy wanted men
That's where we came in
Mister Brown and Mister Jones
The Owens, the Cohens and Flynn
The Navy wanted more
Of Uncle Sammy's kin
So we all joined up
And brother we're in to win.

You guys are the best!

But, Good grief - I can’t believe those moonbats are still there. I thought maybe, just maybe they’d go away after Obama was elected. Guess not.

So, thank you guys for hanging tough in this freezing weather to let the troops know that you care and remind others of their purpose!
