I felt the same way when I read the book “Lone Survivor”. The Afghan village that harbored the lone survivor of the Seal Team, nursed him and refused to turn him over to the Taliban just made my heart swell.
The Taliban physically beat the kids because they refused to betray the American, but they displayed the marks of their beatings with grins and pride.
Just Wow.

“There were likely survivors since a UH 60 has a crew of 3.”
Actually in wartime they have a crew of 4 consisting of a
Pilot, Co-pilot, Crewchief/Gunner, and a Gunner.

“I have heard that a helicopter is no more than a loose collection of used parts flying in close formation.
At least thats what the crews said about the choppers I rode in.”
Yeah no kidding..... Half a million parts made by the lowest bidder(s) that all need to work together for the thing to fly.
