Why are certain Republicans anti-Palin ?

Posted on 01/20/2009 2:56:01 PM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

I don't that our party is doing enough to unite behind Sarah. I feel that there is a steady effort to disown her at the RNC and among East Coast elites.

But I have also talked to some run of the mill conservatives recently who are not Palin fans, and that shocked.

I get the feeling that Governor Palin has a lot of work to do. 2012 will be an uphill battle. But I wanted to ask you all..

Why are so many Republicans dead set against her ? and why is her support seemingly frozen at the moment ? Palin fatigue ?

They are just jealous as she is not afraid to let people know she is a real conservative.

Don't let it get you down. Establishment R's trying to 'go the high road', get moderate, and get with the times and appease.

The first time I see Sarah has a legitimate election campaign and means to donate by credit card, it's gonna become like the lights, electricity, phone and water bills combined. I'm gonna donate REGULARLY - screw the limits. I'll just change names each time like Obama's foreign contributors.

What is a run of the mill conservative? All the people I know
think she’s great. Granted she is not a privileged Caroline Kennedy
so many elitist on both sides will have their biased opinions.

While I am not anti-Palin, she certainly could use some pointers from Ann Coulter on how to deal with the drive-by media.

She scares elites.

She is far too common for them, and won’t kiss their *sses.

“I don’t that our party is doing enough to unite behind Sarah.”

First, that sentence is not grammatical.

Second, we are a party of IDEAS not celebrities or personalities. Even the concept of ‘uniting behind’ a politician makes no sense. That’s what Obama-bots do, not free-loving citizens.

Third, she is Governor of Alaska. Unless you live in Alaska and until she’s a declared candidate for President, it really doesnt matter what your or my feelings or views are. It wont change political events.

I like Palin, but the wannabe Palin-worshippers are an annoying bunch with the wrong priorities. They are jumping the gun. A socialist was just sworn in, the market tanked 5% and the job losses since O was elected is now over 1 million. We have bigger fish to fry right now.

The last poll shows that 85 percent of Republicans have a favorable view of her. You are right, the RNC and many long established people don’t like her, it’s probably due to the fact that they feel threatened by someone with a record of taking on corruption. Some ordinary republicans have been taken in by the MSM’s presentation regarding her, and haven’t done their own research, or they are supporters of other candidates, such as Huckabee, Romney etc. Those will probably come around if she makes a great showing in the early primaries, the RNC and establishment types may not.

Join Team Sarah, and help us work for her.

I love her. She needs to spend a huge amount of time writing about conservatism and making Reagan-like speeches. With a body of knowledge and papers behind her, she can’t be beaten.

Because they don’t recognize a real conservative Republican any more when they see one. They’ve been McCained and Bushed to death.

First introduction of Palin I was speaking with a conservative girl friend of mine about how much I like her she says this... With her family, young and having a down syndrome son she needs to be home. I dont like she is putting her family out there? hmm. I have heard several comments to this. I, of course, thinks it odd but a true feeling out there.

In fair world, ‘dealing’ with the media by being confident, knowledgeable, ‘clean’, ‘articulate’ (unless you’re black), doesn’t cut it. In your face, defiant rebellion ala Ann Coulter is what’s needed. The media will NEVER, N-E-V-E-R cut a conservative a break - they (media) just are not in it for the truth.

Because establishment republicans typically despise the conservative wing of the GOP. Have for decades. As elitists they believe themselves superior to conservatives, and in terms of political influence they feel their hold on the party is threatened by them.

Palin obviously represents the conservative faction of the party.

because so many republicans watch the msm and BELIEVE them just like the libs. and the msm has worked overtime to discredit her.

I’ve talked to a beaucoup republicans who don’t like her; they make me not like them.

Palin would be a disaster for us in 2012.

Have you listened to that prank call perpetrated on her by those french-canucks? She came off like a fool.

I like Palin, but she was not ready for prime-time, and her multiple poor performances will dog her.

"Why are certain Republicans anti-Palin ?"

Darned good question! Perhaps it's because of the recent victories that the Republican Party has experienced?

Please let me know if you come up with a cogent answer. Also, drop me a note if you come up with a conservative political party!
