Atheist Michael Newdow used his then 9-year-old daughter in his fight to get rid of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools. He is quoted as saying “you have to play games with the court” which is why he used her to get his own agenda accomplished. He is a pathetic man in need of repentance and salvation.

Atheism helps prove there is a God. If God truly doesn't exist they would put Him in the category of Mickey Mouse or Santa Claus and the Cross would simply be the letter t to them. Why fight if you really believe that? But He is real and bares witness to their guilty conscience so they feel they have to fight His existence to appease their conscience. At the judgment all will give an account to the Lord whether they believe it or not.

Why even bother to respond in this case? The Supreme Court has absolutely zero jurisdiction in this matter. The 1st amendment says only that Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion. The president can do whatever the hell he wants, as can the States.

Two observations:

I see an increasing number of comparisons between Comrade 0bama and King Herod, and the fact is, 0bama has even MORE innocent blood on his hands than Herod, due to his unconditional and unqualified support for abortion on demand.

The other observation?

I believe that one day, when Michael Newdow has exhausted the patience of the Almighty, that one day we’ll see a mysterious news item about ‘Michael Newdow’s pathetic greasy ass inexplicably snuffed out in sudden lightning flash and smoke’, and while everyone wonders what happened, WE’LL know exactly what happened.

Newdow has the sourest face ever. And no wonder. He has no faith in God and nothing to sustain him. He is to be pitied.

I believe Newdow would allow the president to say it on his own, but not to be forced to say it. That would be keeping with tradition.

I saw Newdow debate some of these issues with Gregory Katsas, Deputy Assistant Attorney General, who argued in Newdow v. Carey (still pending after a year in the Ninth Circuit).

Newdow is for a very strict idea of fairness, whereas Katsas argued ably for upholding tradition, and gave many examples--at least at the debate, that is.

Both arguments have merit, and in this case, allowing the phrase but not requiring it seems to me to be occupying an acceptable middle ground.
