Freepers today is the big day. I'm assuming it's going to be on C-SPAN. I did not find a discussion thread so I'm starting one for us.
I doubt anything will happen...despite the hope we all share that there will be one decent man left in Washington. They’ve all sold their souls to be in DC, no one is going to weather the “racism” charge and vote against certification.
I bet someone challenges the count, just one person.

During Roland Burris’ first full fiscal year as Illinois attorney general, more than half of the money his office awarded for outside legal work went to campaign contributors, according to a book published by Illinois Issues magazine and the Springfield State Journal-Register.
In FY 1992, Burris’ office issued roughly $4 million in outside legal contracts to individuals and law firms, according to the book, Illinois For Sale, which was published in 1997. More than $2.25 million of that amount went to contributors to Burris’ campaign or to the main Democratic fundraising committee.
None of the outside legal contracts were required to be put out for bids by competing law firms. Burris’ office was allowed to award the contracts without consideration over whether the state received the best price for the legal work.

One person doesn't cut it. There has to be at least one congressman and one senator to issue a challange. Then it goes to both houses to debate and vote. When the Democrats issued a challenge to the Ohio vote in 2004 it took Congress maybe an hour and a half to vote the challenge down.

Both have sent back canned BS replies - in Saxby’s case, he also responded as if I wanted tickets to BO’s @#$%^&* inauguration!! Dumb SOB
Both hang their hats on statements from HI authorities without bothering to analyze the wording of said statements.
I thought these elected officials were supposed to be master wordsmiths. Certainly the quantity of oral diarrhea they provide would indicate a passing familiarity with the english language.

Notice how in the Lightfoot v Bowen (Dr Orly) case, “Application (08XXXX) referred to the Court” is the LAST Order in that case, unlike other SCOTUS cases challenging Obama. Donofrio’s & Wrotnowski’s cases are slightly similar as well, with denied writ applications but pending cases. A clerical mess-up or something else?

One possible reason would be based upon the theory that the SCOTUS is awaiting a true Constitutional “Cause of Action.” This may be either the Jan. 8 counting of the Electoral College votes or Inauguration Day. Incidentally, the Inauguration Day on Jan. 20 is the only Constitutional-mandated date associated with the President (except Election Day); all other dates fall under USC Title 3.

When might we see a challenge?
“On January 8, 2009, both the U.S. Senate and House shall meet for the purpose of counting and certifying the electoral votes. After the vote has been counted, the President of the Senate shall call for objections. It is at this time that federal officials in both the House and Senate may object to the certification of President-elect Obama by alleging that he fails to meet the constitutional requirements to serve as President of the United States.”

There is still time for one brave soul to object, and I pray he/she will do so.
That’s the only thing I’m hoping for. At least ONE person with enough guts to at least broach the subject. I’m not under any misconception of hope that it will change today’s outcome in certifying the vote, but if at least ONE Representative, or Senator brings it up at least it’ll be in the record.
I’m not sure of the order of things. Right now we are in the state by state call out of electoral votes. When this is over might be the time that someone could object. I’m not sure that it would take place “by the state”.
Ha ha, big joke about Ohio being “regular in form and authentic” (because Bush didn’t steal it this time doncha know).
