But I am sick and tired of the America bashing by Brits---and with their unraveling society...becoming a western staging ground for Islamists/1000 mosques established over the last 10 years--many in abandoned churches--the highest youth drunkeness and teen pregnancy and abortion rates in Europe, exploding street crime and murders--talk about the pot calling kettle black.

A couple sample comments in response to the tragic Santa murders report in The Daily Mail today:

"America has always been the same. If you haven't previously run amok and committed mass murder, then you can go into a gun shop and legally buy guns to do just that. What a sick society."

Jim Diamond, Cambridge UK, 26/12/2008 11:16

"Home of the brave, land of the free. If countries were people this one would be sectioned. A truly awful society."

Tony Quinlan, Northants, 26/12/2008 11:14

I experienced more anti-Americanism in the UK as a teenager, than I ever have in Mexico, Italy, Spain, Germany, etc (I speak and understand Spanish, btw). The only place where I encountered more open anti-Americanism was in France (although it was concentrated among snot nosed students).

There are some great folks in England, but once they get a few pints in them, they will tell you what they REALLY think of us. Of course, most of my time in England was in London and Oxford, so it may not have been a representative sample. Most of the English that I've done business with are usually pretty fair, even when critical of the U S of A.

I will not post words to express my thoughts on this. Because if I did I would likely upset some good brits that dont’ deserve my harsh words.

I don’t know why you are so mad at Britain? It’s been dead and buried some 20 years, now. We have Britainistan and nothing else. The great land of England has long since perished of its own stupidity and political correctness.

Now, all that is left in England are spineless, half-men, criminal teens and Islamofascists. I mourn for its loss, but alas, it is lost, indeed. And we’ll never see its like again.

So, we’d best begin to plan on Britainistan being an outright enemy soon. Not this minute, but soon enough it will come to a shooting war with them once again. Eventually Britainistan will be aligned with the Islamofascists and opposing us anywhere and everywhere.

Too bad. It used to be such a nice place.

Living in Orlando I’ve had the opportunity to run into Brit tourists at some of our local gun ranges.

Invariably there are one or two in the group (that is almost always escorted by an American) that are the whiny liberal types. They complain that they are there, they complain that they went along with their friends who talked them into going, they whine about guns, blah, blah, blah.

Then they shoot.

When they are done with the first cylinder/magazine they ALWAYS turn around and say, “Can I do it again?”

I’ve even talked to some whose SOLE purpose is to come on vacation to Orlando and shoot. Sometimes just the rental handguns and other times machine guns.

That's why they bash -- to (temporarily) keep their petty minds of their sinking ship. Plus criticizing the world's Top Dog has been the official world sport for ages.

DownUnder in Australia and New Zealand they are known as “Whinging Poms”. All they do is whinge about how much better it is in the UK and how primitive things are here in the Colonies.

Eventually they grow out of it. Given lots of time and patience. Especially patience. And cold beer.

It’s amazing how much they get to like ice cold local beer after a few scorching summers and only their warm beer to drink.

I don’t know how they manage to drink their stuff: it looks and tastes like warm, soapy, used bath-water. Ick!

But that’s whinging poms for ya.

What can you expect from a society whose men like to be spanked?

If you wish to visit a country where the people truly appreciate Americans go to Viet Nam for a vacation. The people there all love Americans and the food is the greatest and the countryside is varied and fascinating.

I love the Brits. The humour. The food. The dress. The attitude.

I don’t identify the Brits with their overlords. They are wonderful and special people

I suggest you overlook their masters as well.

Perhaps we should ask the society whose men gave the world “The Village People”.

countryside is varied and fascinating.

Had the dubious honor of visiting that country back in the late 60’s. All expenses paid by my uncle (Uncle Sam). Think I will pass. As for the, varied and fascinating countryside … remember that as well. ;-)

I have been back twice and will go back again. I go whenever I can scrape up airfare. And I was there in 68-69 and back and forth between there and Okinawa for another year. It is a beautiful country marred by a thoroughly corrupt government. The people are actually more like Americans than any other people in South and East Asia. They will tell you that America is the Promised Land and Americans are the reason why.
