In "Uncle Shariah" in the Washington Times, December 16, Frank Gaffney details why AIG's nationalization is so worrisome:
The insurance giant AIG has lately become the poster child for corporate risk-taking, mismanagement and greed. Its unimaginably large losses, rooted in insurance it extended to financial companies engaged in subprime mortgage-backed transactions, have destroyed both AIG's corporate reputation and balance sheet. Indeed, but for the fact that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson - who during his days running Goldman Sachs had extensive ties to AIG - deemed the insurance firm "too large to fail," the company would surely have gone under by now. Instead, Mr. Paulson gave AIG well over $40 billion of the slush-fund Congress intended to bailout the financial sector (part of a total $150 billion the U.S. has sunk in AIG to date). As a result, you and I and our fellow taxpayers have been saddled with ownership of nearly 80 percent of this once high-flying and now-floundering global insurance enterprise.
Another result of AIG's nationalization is, if anything, even more worrisome."
It turns out that AIG has a subsidiary specializing in "takaful" - insurance products that are purportedly "Shariah-compliant." I say purportedly because - while they have been cynically deemed "pure" (halal) by Shariah advisers that AIG employed for the

Actions speak louder than words. Jihad Watch doesn't seem to be interested in doing anything other than shine a light on a fire. We, the people, who OWN this government (and AIG, even though we didn't want to) are responsible for getting rid of the liberals who support the multiculturalism and globalism that is shredding the very fabric of this nation.
There was a time when we were the world's melting pot - bringing diverse elements together to create an America that was the envy of the world. Thanks to globalism and multiculturalism brought to us by liberal politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle, America is fracturing at its core; no longer are we "one people under God" but, instead, are a loose collection of politically and spiritually diverse factions occupying the same soil.
How much more damage will we allow our corrupt, agenda-driven political elites cause this nation before we stand up and say "enough is enough"?? How much longer before we take back OUR government and rid ourselves of the liberal vermin and disparate factions whose goal is to destroy what once was the greatest nation on earth??? How long?

I have financial holdings in AIG. They’re coming out, for starters.
At of damage and it will take a long time. Until it starts to affect people at an EXTREME personal level, they just won't move. Think of the movie, "the Patriot". The main character did not get involved in the Revolution until he had 2 of his 5 sons killed and a third one arrested. It will have to get that personal before people get involved, and even then, many just won't do anything. I don't believe we can save the US at this point. There is way too much ignorance out there, and no one will stand up to the foolish segments of our society because our code of morals requires that we act with some temperament and humility toward people we don't know.
Publicly, I hope you are VERY wrong but, privately, I fear that you are VERY right. Until we find a way to penetrate the American Idol, iPod-loving, game playing mentality of too many Americans, I fear that we will lose the America that so many of us grew up with and may never be able to reclaim.
Until people truly understand the magnificence of the Constitution as developed by the Founding Fathers (and NOT the one envisioned by today's incompetents who are supposed to support and defend it), we are toast!!
You are so right ion in your assessment.
We as a country have become far too P/C worried about people we don’t know or owe anything to. Too worried to have a finger pointed at us as being prejudiced, uncaring or some other nonsense.
The younger generation is now schooled in the thought that socialism is good and that everyone should share in the wealth. That there can never be a war and that we all need to hug and sing for peace.
What they fail to realize is how many of the older generation has sacrificed their blood sweat and tears to give them the freedom to say such things. That sacrifices have been made and need to continue to be made if they want this same lifestyle.
Mostly they fail to realize that not everyone shares their views, nor can they be reasoned with. That they exist and subsist on the hatred for us and would rather see us all dead than work with us in any way shape or form.
When the juveniles wake up it may be too late for them to do anything about it at all.
Until they do, it is still up to us to try to educate and continue to to hold on to our country through voting people like PHALEASOI and OHBOMBUS out of office. Exposing people like RHAM and HITLARY for what they are.
What do we DO?
RESIST-in every way possible.
Do not DEAL with Muslims on any level. Don’t shop at stores they own or run. Don’t even get in a checkout line if one is the cashier. Sneer at every one you meet. OFFEND Muslims daily. Flaunt what they hate. Denigrate Islam- it is our ENEMY.
No sane being- no animal for that matter- tolerates that which will destroy it. To do anything less than revile and reject Islam, and Muslims, on every level is suicide, plain and simple.
MILLIONS doing this WILL have an effect. Grassroots resistance. It’s what made us a free nation, it will work to keep us free if each of us has the guts to do their part.
Beyond that, it will take an armed uprising. We all know it, no one wants to say it.
Islam is large, dangerous, violent, focused and unrelenting in its goal for world domination.
We will have to be a large, dangerous, violent, focused and unrelenting force to defeat it.
Nothing less will work. That’s the elephant in the corner.
Face it now, or later, but it WILL come that.
