Will the anti-Obama zealots give the birth allegations a rest?
Rocky Mountain News ^ | 12/9/08 | Editors

Posted on 12/09/2008 4:27:21 AM PST by pissant

By refusing on Monday to hear a lawsuit challenging whether Barack Obama is indeed eligible under the Constitution to become the 44th president, the U.S. Supreme Court should have put to rest the fanciful rumors about the president-elect.

Yet the justices' action will not end the fringe conspiracy-mongering. David Weigel reported in Slate that Obama's foes have mailed "information" packets to presidential electors in advance of their Dec. 15 vote; right-wing activist Bob Schultz, who has orchestrated the campaign, says electors who vote for Obama are committing "treason to the Constitution."

May we offer some advice? Get a life. It appears that the phenomenon known as Bush Derangement Syndrome - with unhinged left-wingers willing to believe any scurrilous rumor about the 43rd president - has a mirror image on the right.

Some claim that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, and his birth certificate was faked. Others concede he was born in Hawaii but say he gave up his U.S. citizenship at age 6 when his mother, who married a citizen of Indonesia, moved the family to that nation.

It's difficult to believe rational adults can take these allegations seriously (and they have in fact been debunked). Obama served eight years in the Illinois legislature and most of one term in the U.S. Senate. If he were not a citizen, don't you think at least one of his campaign opponents would have found the proof to make that charge stick?

Even if the facts were murky, however, what possible point is there to raising them at this time? Does anyone seriously believe a court is going to try to bar from office the candidate chosen as president by a clear majority of voters? What do these zealots want, civil disorder?

Soon, the Rocky Mountain News will be resting, permanently. A victim of it’s own reporting.

I’ll be more than happy to give this issue a rest. Just as soon as Mr. Hussein Obama proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he truly is an American.

Until then....

Debunked ? I wish he would offer proof besides Factcheck.

These morons still don't get it. It is not the fact that he is a citizen , it is whether he was a natural born citizen.

I listened to months of libs claiming an ‘illegal presidency’, of 9/11 conspiracy theories, of some link between the Bush’s and the Saudi royals, etc. An incessant drone for almost 8 years.

So, I’m just fine questioning the birth certificate of this clown. I’m just fine pointing out his socialist intentions. I’m just fine pointing out experience deficits, character flaws, etc.

Nope. Especially since we have inept “journalists” who don’t bother to research what they are complaining about.

That doesn’t recognize or even understand there IS a difference between Citizen and Natural Born Citizen and that the only position in the entire land (not Senate you dumbie) that requires Natural Born is President.

Why not prove otherwise? Why not avoid continuous doubts about legitimacy? Why not show us? It would be so easy - why not show us?

It's difficult to believe rational adults can take these allegations seriously (and they have in fact been debunked).

No, they haven't been debunked. Saying that those who are pressing the issue are nuts isn't debunking.

Obama served eight years in the Illinois legislature and most of one term in the U.S. Senate. If he were not a citizen, don't you think at least one of his campaign opponents would have found the proof to make that charge stick?

That's not the charge. No wonder the authors fails to grasp the issue - he doesn't even know the issue.

If it's not shown/proven clearly and convincingly that obama is a valid president, this will only grow. It isn't going away.

Wait til he makes a decision that urks a critical mass [like Biden's foreshadowed crisis]. That is not the time to have doubts about a president.

Why the resistance to show legitimacy? Why? We need a president - marxist or no - but we need one.

Many freepers have offered to pay the $12 processing fee for him. I even will pay to have the certified docs fed-exed to the press conference where he releases it to the public.

Can’t speak for any anti-Obama zealot.
But speaking for myself as an American zealot and a US Constitution zealot I say that Mr Obama must prove as every other President of the United States has proved, that they are an eligible person to be President of the United States.
Sorry if being an American offends you but that is YOUR problem not mine....

“Will the anti-Obama zealots give the birth allegations a rest?”

Depends whether they believe the Constitution of the United States means anything or not. Admittedly, there aren’t many people anymore who feel constrained either by its text or its intent.

Sadly, too many ‘conservatives’ have given the green light to the marxist fraud as well.

This is a legitimate concern and the hypocrisy of the same people who would rummage through the trash for any tidbit on Republicans/conservatives have the audacity to question anyone from wanting this issue proven by so simple a thing as releasing the birth certificate of someone of questionable origin.

If the president-elect were (R), the media would be bleeding this issue dry.
