Will the anti-Obama zealots give the birth allegations a rest?
Rocky Mountain News ^ | 12/9/08 | Editors

Posted on 12/09/2008 4:27:21 AM PST by pissant

By refusing on Monday to hear a lawsuit challenging whether Barack Obama is indeed eligible under the Constitution to become the 44th president, the U.S. Supreme Court should have put to rest the fanciful rumors about the president-elect.

Yet the justices' action will not end the fringe conspiracy-mongering. David Weigel reported in Slate that Obama's foes have mailed "information" packets to presidential electors in advance of their Dec. 15 vote; right-wing activist Bob Schultz, who has orchestrated the campaign, says electors who vote for Obama are committing "treason to the Constitution."

May we offer some advice? Get a life. It appears that the phenomenon known as Bush Derangement Syndrome - with unhinged left-wingers willing to believe any scurrilous rumor about the 43rd president - has a mirror image on the right.

Some claim that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, and his birth certificate was faked. Others concede he was born in Hawaii but say he gave up his U.S. citizenship at age 6 when his mother, who married a citizen of Indonesia, moved the family to that nation.

It's difficult to believe rational adults can take these allegations seriously (and they have in fact been debunked). Obama served eight years in the Illinois legislature and most of one term in the U.S. Senate. If he were not a citizen, don't you think at least one of his campaign opponents would have found the proof to make that charge stick?

Even if the facts were murky, however, what possible point is there to raising them at this time? Does anyone seriously believe a court is going to try to bar from office the candidate chosen as president by a clear majority of voters? What do these zealots want, civil disorder?

I’ll be more than happy to give this issue a rest. Just as soon as Mr. Hussein Obama proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he truly is an American.

Until then....

Debunked ? I wish he would offer proof besides Factcheck.

These morons still don't get it. It is not the fact that he is a citizen , it is whether he was a natural born citizen.

I listened to months of libs claiming an ‘illegal presidency’, of 9/11 conspiracy theories, of some link between the Bush’s and the Saudi royals, etc. An incessant drone for almost 8 years.

So, I’m just fine questioning the birth certificate of this clown. I’m just fine pointing out his socialist intentions. I’m just fine pointing out experience deficits, character flaws, etc.

Nope. Especially since we have inept “journalists” who don’t bother to research what they are complaining about.

That doesn’t recognize or even understand there IS a difference between Citizen and Natural Born Citizen and that the only position in the entire land (not Senate you dumbie) that requires Natural Born is President.

Why not prove otherwise? Why not avoid continuous doubts about legitimacy? Why not show us? It would be so easy - why not show us?

It's difficult to believe rational adults can take these allegations seriously (and they have in fact been debunked).

No, they haven't been debunked. Saying that those who are pressing the issue are nuts isn't debunking.

Obama served eight years in the Illinois legislature and most of one term in the U.S. Senate. If he were not a citizen, don't you think at least one of his campaign opponents would have found the proof to make that charge stick?

That's not the charge. No wonder the authors fails to grasp the issue - he doesn't even know the issue.

If it's not shown/proven clearly and convincingly that obama is a valid president, this will only grow. It isn't going away.

Wait til he makes a decision that urks a critical mass [like Biden's foreshadowed crisis]. That is not the time to have doubts about a president.

Why the resistance to show legitimacy? Why? We need a president - marxist or no - but we need one.

Can’t speak for any anti-Obama zealot.
But speaking for myself as an American zealot and a US Constitution zealot I say that Mr Obama must prove as every other President of the United States has proved, that they are an eligible person to be President of the United States.
Sorry if being an American offends you but that is YOUR problem not mine....

The people blaming the ‘zealots’ have to ask themselves: Why would Obama refuse to produce his original birth certificate?

COuld it be he prefers keeping dozens of lawyers on his payroll? Could it be that he purposely wants to sew strife regarding him taking office? Could it be he really believes the COLB posted on his website is sufficient, eventhought the state of HI does not consider it sufficient to establish birth circumstances?

No, it is because he is hiding something.

It may be a very mundane (albeit embarassing) situation-

The more I think about this I bet Obama gamed the system to get some sort of grants or aid or other preferential treatement based on the fact he was Kenyan/Indonesian or whatever lie he told.

This is why we don’t see the birth certicate AND the college applications, and the college transcripts and the student loans -and why he roomed with the foreign students at Columbia.

Also explains why the Selective Service Records had to be ginned up after the fact ( non-citizens don’t register )
and why he spent 800k to avoid providing this information as it will be a scandal. But he may in fact be natural born which is why he is willing to keep stonewalling .

Once he is in office, any falsehoods he used to get to college will be brushed away as “the end justifies the means”

As I understand it, the state of Hawaii locked the file. I suppose someone could pull a democrat and steal the record and leak it to the media, but I wouldn't personally advocate for anyone to commit a crime. It was wrong for the democrats to abuse their power of office and it would be equally wrong for a republican to do the same.

I really don’t see what’s so difficult or “tin-foil-hat” about a simple request to see the birth certificate of someone who wants to be President, in order to ensure that they are eligible for the job.

I don’t necessarily believe that Obama is not eligible (he may be hiding the BC because it is embarrassing, as in, contradicting his “official” bio, as opposed to any legal issues), but the fact that there is a Constitutional requirement but no way to enforce it is astounding, to say the very least.

The American people have the right to know what has happened, or is happening, even after January 20th.

This is as important to every future election as it is to the 2008 pleb.

The greater elite class -- that is all who view themselves as a cut above, even towering above -- the rest of us unwashed fringe cretins, and the dimwit sheeple public have closed ranks around Obama. While they control most of the public reporting of this story, their reach is weakening quickly.

It is unfortunate that in that class are many once friends of the Republic of the Free, who evidently, like the Tories and "leaning Royalists" of the Revolution, have decided to turn their backs, to raise their noses, to the rest of us Patriots -- for the sake of being with the elite. Obama is elite -- they must defend his franchise, his title, as they would their own entitled elite classification.

There are few to no other reasons that I have seen brought forward to explain the breakdown among our once-friends. Nothing else explains their snarky slandering of those who pursue truth and who trust to the words and intent of the Constitution and our national heritage.
