Obama invites Americans to take a "Seat at the Table"

Obama invites Americans to take a "Seat at the Table" Dec 6 06:25 PM US/Eastern US president-elect Barack Obama on Saturday took a cyber-step towards greater transparency and interactive government with a new feature on his official transition website called "Seat at the Table."

The initiative calls for the proceedings of meetings between the Obama transition team and outside organizations to be published on the transition website, Change.gov, and to allow members of the public to comment on them.

"In past transitions, meetings like this have been held behind closed doors," said John Podesta, co-chair of the transition team. "Not anymore."

Podesta, in an email to supporters, said "the people and groups we're meeting with, the subjects of the meetings, and any documents shared in the meetings will now be made available on Change.gov.

"Most importantly, the American public can weigh in with comments or their own materials," Podesta added.

The Obama transition team also outlined the new initiative in a posting on the blog of Change.gov at change.gov/newsroom/entry/seat_at_the_table/ and in a video on the video-sharing site YouTube at tinyurl.com/5asmtp.

"We look forward to benefiting from the many more voices that will now be a part of the decision-making process," Podesta said.

Well, I guess it is good that there will then be at least some Americans seated at that table.

I remember a story about Hitler inviting the public to contact him with their opinions and complaints. Seems that it didn’t turn out so well for those with opinions and complaints.

Just like his specially appointed committee actually decided who his vice-president would be. To be honest, though, this is incredibly great theater. Alas, the "people" and the press will eat this baloney up.

Change.gov. Will this forever more be an official .gov site? For members of BOTH parties?

If his birth related issues are an indication of his transparency, he could sell it to darkrooms.

So Obama has emerged from his rabbit hole now that the Mumbai Massacre is over. How weird that the press was pushing Obama for two full years, but when Islamic terrorism reared it ugly head, down the rabbit hole BHO went.

This is just like Clinton and the first World Trade Center bombing. Not Present!

The trouble is that no one at that table has an education in anything involving numbers. Let us remember that numbers are not the friends of liberals.

Having seen what the Obamunists in Government did to Joe the Plumber was enough to turn me off to forever posting anything to B.O.’s site. Unless of course, you are 13 years old in which case they are prohibited by law from keeping tabs on you.

Maybe FReepers “with politically minded kids” should post to the Obama Jugend er Kids site. It beats doing their homework for them.

My first reaction was they sent email to *supporters*. So, only HIS supporter’s input is valuable? I take it they did not borrow/buy the email lists of McCain/Palin, RNC, GOP, or any GOP official. I know, because I am on them all, and I didn’t get my baloney email. Glad to know this is validation that he doesn’t give a flying fig about ALL of America, just his cronies.
